El Paso Energy Corporation, International Division

Responsible for all environmental issues of the Coastal Aruba
Refining Company in San Nicolas, Aruba. Managed a team of environmental contractors that were involved in asbestos testing/abatement, toxic waste cleanup, waste management and oil spill response. Involved with preparing the refinery for sale and discussions with potential buyers.

-Developed a monitoring program that gathered information on accumulated oil beneath the refinery. Created a database of information that allowed documentation of movement trends and isopach mapping of flow paths in order to track seepage.

-Co-led a project to rid refinery facility of 50,000 gallons of
PCB contaminated, transformer oil and out-of-service units.
Served as liaison with contractor to complete project that was successfully accomplished without adversely affecting refinery operations.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRINCIPAL, 2001-2003
El Paso Energy Corporation (merged with the Coastal Corporation)

Fully responsible for all environmental affairs at various holdings of El Paso Energy. Provided extra assistance with permitting, and significantly contributed to all of the geologic and hydrologic matters for the coal group. Accountable for air and water compliance at the Unilube facility in Arkansas as well as at various oil storage terminals that are located in New
Jersey, Louisiana, and Texas.

-Managed development of Spill Prevention Control and
Countermeasure Plans for underground mine sites and associated facilities in Virginia. Project ensured compliance with new regulations. Met all deadlines and avoided any penalties.

-Chosen by company president to address all environmental compliance issues within the coal group, including operations in
Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Leadership abilities and managerial success at the operational level were cited as reasons for selection. Projects included responsibility for due diligence during sale of coal group.

-Volunteered to input six months of information on 200 plus permitted storage tanks into a database. Recalculated air emissions and submitted to regulatory agencies. Received vacation of Notice Of Violation and avoided fine. Completed project in very compressed time span of two weeks.

MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORIES/GEOLOGIST, 1990-2001
Coastal Coal Company

Managed daily operations of Spectrum Laboratories, an analytical facility for both coal and environmental analysis. Operated with annual budget of $1.2 million, and a staff of 26.

-Reorganized business structure to perform analytical testing for affiliate and outside companies. Increased revenue from outside sources from $15,000 in 1990 to $630,000 in 1998. Reduced overall annual operating costs by $800,000.

-Constructed new environmental laboratory and obtained certification from West Virginia, utilizing lab equipment originally slated to be surplused. Implemented round-robin quality assurance program.

-Selected, due to expertise, to participate in numerous
Underground Storage Tank projects for in-house and external clients. Acted as both supervisor and senior scientist.
