Watershed Development and Management activities in semi-arid region; Augmentation of Groundwater through artificial recharge in hard rock terrain, Groundwater balance studies in dark areas, Irrigation potential development of small farms and Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Groundwater resources development and management in drought prone areas.
CAPABILITES
Analysis and interprets technical data pertaining to ground and surface water quantity and quality, rainfall and drainage and water resources facilities. Compiles and interprets planning and design analysis based on independent critical evaluations and makes recommendations pertaining to hydrologic issues. Prepares comprehensive reports regarding watershed development, augmentation of ground water by artificial recharge techniques, water balance studies, groundwater basins and surface water resources. Recommends, trains, supervises, and evaluates field technicians. Supervise water sampling and monitoring works at field level.

* Development of decision support system by linking mathematical models with GIS for carrying out studies on the assessment of land and water resources and evolving development plan for a micro-watershed in semi-arid region.
* Hydrologic and non-point source pollution studies for water management and sustainable development of a watershed in a semi arid region with reference to understanding the interaction between surface water and ground water
* Hydrogeological investigations in the surrounding villages of ACC Ltd., Kymore, Katni district of Madhya Pradesh to understand the impact of mining on water regime.
* Geohydrological surveys to understand the physical frame work and hydrogeological setup for improving irrigation facility in selected 58 existing sericulture farms in Madhya Pradesh by implementation of cost-effective water and soil conservation structures
* Socioeconomic surveys and geoelectrical soundings to suggest suitable appropriate sites for development of sericulture farms in selected seven districts of Chhattishgarh region
* Generation of ground water prospect maps for parts of Chhindwara, Raisen, Betul and Hoshangabad districts of Madhya Pradesh using Remote Sensing and GIS techniques with supported by limited field survey
