WORK EXPERIENCE

August 2006 – May 2007 Eisenhower Fellowship Program

One year fellowship for a research about "Development of a transportation strategic model and critical resources distribution after a possible disaster on Mayagüez, Puerto Rico." (Prof. Didier Valdes). This work try to develop new strategies to handle and manage the critical resources, the type of transportation used to deliver these resources to a disaster area. These strategies will be determined by choosing the optimal location and amounts of goods that will be required in such event. These strategies will help to the different government agencies take the control of a disaster situation following a strategic model.

Summer 2006 Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) - Internship

Summer internship research with the title of the "Using Processed Municipal Waste to Control Fugitive Dust Particles on Unpaved Roads on Champaign, Illinois. (Dick Gebhart & Ryan Busby, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, ERDC). This research is to try to determine which method is the best procedure for mixing of the soil with the municipal waste is necessary to know the hardness that this additive can provide and decrease the amount of fugitive dust particles.

August 2005 – May 2006 Professional Development Program UPR/PUPR/ATI

One year program research with the title of "Study of the Viability of Express Transport Between Train Station and Old San Juan". (Prof. Felipe Luyanda & Benjamin Colucci). This research tries to connects both point with an express route bus to serve a greater flow of people to the train it would be obtains greater sponsorship and better movement of users.

September 2004 – April 2006 Civil Engineering, Environmental Research Laboratory

As part of a research transport of landmines – derives chemicals in different soils under variable environmental conditions. (Prof. Ingrid Padilla & Ivonne Santiago). The work consist on determine different soils physical, chemical and biological properties and characteristics. This research helps to graduates students research projects on the comprehension of the soil characteristics.
