EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
May 2005 to present - Tiomin Kenya Ltd. (Kwale Mineral Sands Project), Ukunda, Kenya
Manager - Health, Safety, Environment and Social Division:
- Leader of project team working together with government agencies, community representatives and other stakeholders through committee mandated to develop and implement project resettlement program. Management of long term social planning at the mine site and host resettlement site.
- Supervise the development and statutory approval of 26 project environmental documents (impact assessments, management plans, action plans and monitoring programs).
- Develop departmental policies and procedures.
- Results include development, public review and approval of Resettlement Action
Plan, completed compensation and resettlement of 381 households from mine site at a cost of approximately USD 6 million, maintaining positive and cordial relations with project affected persons and other stakeholders, implementation of project social infrastructure plan, completion of 75% of environmental documentation to date, participated in intensive due-diligence exercise leading to completion of project financing package.

Acting General Manager:
- Overseeing company affairs including employment, community liaison, PR, licensing, administration, legal issues, court proceedings and reporting to headquarters on all project matters including updates for feasibility study and other statutory project requirements.
- Undertaking project negotiation, development and implementation with various
Kenyan authorities at the local and government level such as National
Environment Management Authority, Commissioner of Mines and Geology,
Export Processing Zones Authority, County Council of Kwale, Ministries of
Environment and Natural Resources, Water and Finance.
- Milestones achieved include obtaining the Special Mining Lease and Fiscal
Agreement from the Government of Kenya, issuing of an Environmental License and approval of a framework Environmental Management Plan.
