OBJECTIVE
I will leverage my skills and experience in mechanical design in the energy sector, focusing on emerging, scalable distributed production technology that will supplement, and eventually supplant existing fuel-limited methods.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
Project Engineer, Bodkin Design & Engineering LLC, Newton, MA, 2002 to 2006.
-Designed, fabricated, and tested balance-of-system components in optical imagers, including in airborne LWIR applications and multi-band, multi-sensor devices, for small, start-up R&D firm.
-Experienced in lens singlet and group mounting in static and active applications.
-Developed proprietary active optical zoom modules, including mechanical systems and hardware/software for embedded control. Programmed EEPROM-based controllers.
-Versed in cryogenic design criteria, including thermal expansion stress and displacement, optical alignment.
-Designed in SolidWorks (2005) and AutoCAD (r14/2000 and 2004). Integrated ZEMAX optical models into mechanical models.
-Skilled in GD&T application/interpretation. Familiar with CAM techniques and capabilities.
-Other responsibilities in small-company environment included grant development, marketing material design, and maintenance of web presence.
Carpenter/Contractor. Jalapeno Corporation, Southern NM, and Family Business, Ithaca, NY, 1995 to present.
-Experienced with commercial and residential projects, both renovation and new construction.
-Skilled in thermal envelope design, building code reliance, framing, roofing, interior and exterior detailing.
Architectural Draftsman, Raisz Architecture, Boston, MA 2002-2003.
-Reconstructed blueprints of residential, commercial, and civic properties from architectural site sketches and measurements, in AutoCAD design environment.
-Interpolated design elements and reconciled inconsistencies within the given measurement sets.
General Manager. Tufts Lighting Sound & Video, Medford, MA, 1999 to 2002.
-Oversaw audio/visual reinforcement company, an independent subsidiary of Tufts University.
-Led a staff of 18. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, promotion.
