Job Description:
* In charge for the inventory of chemicals that are presently manufactured or used, indicating among others, their existing and possible uses, test data, name of firms manufacturing or using them and such other information as maybe considered to the protection of environment health.
* Responsible for the monitoring of the processing, handling and storage, transportation, sales, distribution, use and disposal of chemical substances and mixtures.
* In-charge for information dissemination to educate the populace regarding the hazard and risk attendant to the manufacture, handling and storage, transportation, processing of toxic chemicals and other substances.
* Conducts study on Water Quality, Hydrology, Water Resources and Aquatic Ecology
* Conducts monitoring of the physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters of water bodies within the City (e.g. color, odor, temperature, biological oxygen demand (BOD), salinity, hardness, pH, acidity, coliform count, etc.)
* Identifies historical trends in water quality and quantity, water depletion and current and previous pollution problems
* Conducts water quality measurements: identifies historical trends and existing conditions
* Conducts ambient air quality measurements on areas susceptible to air pollution caused by heavy industries and moving transport

* Reviews Multi-Partite Monitoring Team (MMT) Report of each industries to make sure that they comply with the conditions set forth in the Environmental Compliance Certificate issued by Department of Environment and Natural Resources
* Develop plans, programs and projects related to clean and green, eco-tourism, Calumpang River Management and Rehabilitation, Easement Management and Restoration in consonance with the City's Development Plan
* Promote clean and green program including other initiative of the City
* Conduct research and development studies on cleaner technology and its appropriate application that would be beneficial to City
* Inform and educate the populace regarding issues and concerns that has a greater impact on the environment as a whole
* Develop plans, programs, and projects on Forest, Terrestrial Ecology and Wildlife Management, Watershed Management, Nursery establishment, Watershed Rehabilitation and Watershed protection
* Conduct survey of wildlife and vegetation, apparent species of flora and fauna, including distribution and relative abundance
* Identify any rare and endangered species
