WORK EXPERIENCE:

TUPRAS (TURKISH PETROLEUM REFINERIES) (Environmental Chief for 5.0 million tones/year capacity refinery from December 2007 to present)

Responsibility as the Environmental Chief Engineer is to ensure the operation and maintenance of the Refinery is undertaken in compliance with ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System (EMS) and legal requirements (European and Turkish).

Shell is the shareholder for TUPRAS for 2 years since the cooperation has started an improvement program between Sheel and TUPRAS has been initiated in terms of HSE, operational excellence and integrity reliability. One of the important task is to participate and represent TUPRAS on HSE topics in Shell studies.

Other key tasks as part of this role include:

* Management and implementation of the ISO 14001 system and EMS in an integrated manner with other integrity management systems (ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001);

* Ensuring plant is operating in accordance with all legal requirements, including new and developing legislation in Turkey and Europe, Managing the Environmental Management System commitments and conditional requirements;

* Preparation and management of departmental budget and forecasting;

* Management and administration of departmental staff (10 reporting staff) and working with site contractors to drive towards continuous performance improvement embed TUPRAS HSE standards;

* Management of relations with ministry. Coordination and submission of Environmental Reports to external regulatory agencies which includes coordination of data submittals from all environmental media(i.e., air, water, waste);

* Environmental and H&S inputs into emergency response planning;

* Provide environmental and H&S training to on-site operational and contractor staff, Supervision and capacity building activities including site support, development and delivery of training materials, on-site training, workshops and other team building activities. Areas of support included waste management, emissions management, pollution prevention, emergency planning and incident management ect;

* Tracking environmental technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of on-site environmental management.

BIL (BOTAS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED) (Pipeline Environmental Supervisor from July 2005 to December 2007). Operation and Maintenance of the 34 & 42-BTC Crude Oil Pipeline Project.

Responsibility as the Pipeline Environmental Supervisor was to ensure that the operation and maintenance of the Pipeline was undertaken in compliance with environmental commitments in Operating Agreements, Project Environmental Impact Assessment and International Finance Institution (such as IFC and EBRD) approved environmental management plans. This included ecological, cultural heritage, environmental emissions and waste management. Some key tasks completed as part of this role included:

* Preparation, evaluation, approval and /or verification of key documents related to above topics (including training documents, plans, procedures, work instructions etc) to support development and implementation of environmental management system. Documents were prepared in English and to international standard and in many cases were subject to approval from external bodies including client (BTC Co) and International Finance Institutions.

* Development and roll-out of the environmental management system to control and mitigate environmental aspects and impacts along the pipeline right of way to ensure compliance. Pipeline right of way included 6 large facilities (5 manned with 80+ staff), 52 block valve stations and the pipeline construction and operation corridor.

* Development of the scope of work for key environmental contractors and management of the contracts accordingly.

* Participation in the development of the biorestoration monitoring strategy and subsequent development of BIL specific biorestoration monitoring plan. Field role during pilot studies to test the ground monitoring method. Biorestoration monitoring strategy was developed to determine success of biorestoration of the pipeline right of way principally by looking at degree of vegetation cover and species diversity on disturbed and adjacent undisturbed ground. Monitoring involved both a satellite monitoring component and field monitoring component. Biorestoration monitoring strategy was the first of its kind to be used in the pipeline industry and has been recognized as 'world class' by independent environmental monitors of the Project.

* Development of Pipeline Corridor Environmental, Physical and Ecological Monitoring Procedures which included measures to identify problem areas related to erosion, river crossings, environmentally sensitive and bio-restored areas.

* Supervision, co-ordination and capacity building of on-site HSE Engineers according to HSE requirements under OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 systems of operation. Supervision and capacity building activities including remote support, development and delivery of training materials, on-site training, workshops and other team building activities. Areas of support included waste management, emissions management, pollution prevention, ecological management, cultural heritage, reinstatement and erosion control.

* Participation in audits carried out by the International Finance Institutions and the Client BTC Co.

* Planning and implementation of internal and third-party (waste and waste water treatment facility) audits.

* Participation in (including the delivery of presentations) internal and external environmental, operation-maintenance and management meetings representing the Company's interests.

BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation. (Environmental Monitor from January 2004 up to July 2005). Construction of the 34 & 42-inch BAKU-TBILISI_CEYHAN Crude Oil Pipeline Project.

* Monitored, reported and resolved on-site environmental issues during construction activities related to waste management, aggregate management, prevention pollution, cultural heritage and reinstatement.

* Provided Health, Safety and Environmental supervision and best ensured compliance under the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 norms of construction HSE management systems. Examples of activities which were supervised included: Environmental preconstruction surveys, RoW (Pipeline Corridor) opening, ditch line opening, rock blasting, pipeline shrink sleeve, pipe lowering, pipe backfilling, special crossings (wetlands, river-channel-road crossings), restoration, re-vegetation.

* Audited construction activities to best ensure proper environmental, permitting, quality control, and health and safety compliance.

* Evaluated, approved and verified implementation of site specific plans for special construction areas, such as ecological sensitive areas (project designated for flora and fauna), river crossings, wetlands, wide and steep slopes.

* Development of reinstatement method statements for environmentally sensitive areas. Reinstatement and biorestoration methods included top-soil management, seed collection, subsequent seeding, plant translocation, contouring, erosion control etc. Assurance role to ensure contractors' environmental and construction personnel undertook reinstatement and biorestoration in accordance with plans and other Project requirements.

* Participated in audits carried out by the International Finance Institutions (IFIs) and client BTC Co. Pipeline corridor reinstatement has been recognized by IFIs as best example of reinstatement undertaken by any pipeline company in the world to date. Reinstatement and biorestoration methods on BTC Project are used by IFIs as a benchmark for other major construction projects in the world which they are financing.

* Coordinated and organized environmental monitoring activities on site.

* Participated in internal and external environmental, construction and management meetings representing the Company's interests.

Provincial Headquarters of Gendarme, Bursa/TURKEY (Environmental Engineer from August 2003 to January 2004) as part of obligatory military service serving the Gendarme forces in Bursa Province.

* Monitored and reported environmental emissions from industrial facilities in Bursa province.

* Preparation of presentations for specific concerns such as illegal residence, discharges to air and water, and hunting.

SU-YAPI Engineering and Consulting Inc. (Project Engineer from July of 2000 to July of 2003).

* For EXIM Bank financed Alpaslan II Dam, HEPP and Material Borrow Areas: Preparation of Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report and coordination of ESIA baseline studies including air quality modeling studies for dam construction and use of borrow pits.

* For Izmir Great Channel Project Southern Collectors Wastewater and Stormwater Detailed Design: Responsible for routing the sewerage network, hydraulic analyses of routed network, preparation of budget estimate, length in meters calculations and planning/profiling the network civil works.

* For Beyþehir Þaki Karaaðaç Road Branching-Höyük-Argýt Han Road Deþdiðin Town-crossing: Responsible for stormwater drainage design, preparation of hydraulic calculations, budget estimate, length in meter calculations and plans for civil works.

* For Ankara Water Supply Project Design Revision: Responsible for identifying the pollution sources Isikli and Korler Dam catchments which had been identified for water supply to Ankara and pollution and water quality modeling studies for Ulusu and Markusa Rivers.

* For Balikesir Organized Industrial Zone Potable Water Supply Project: Responsible for hydraulic analysis of potable water network, budget estimation, length in meters calculations and preparing the plans for civil works and joint details.

* For Antalya Water and Sanitation Project: Responsible for routing the sewerage network, hydraulic analyses of the routed network, budget estimation, length in meters calculations and planning/profiling the network civil works.

* For Filyos Flood Protection Project (DSI-State Hydraulic Works) Design Revision: Responsible for Andiraz Dam, HEPP and Material Areas EIA Report preparation and co-ordinating the EIA studies.

* For Filyos Flood Protection Project (DSI-State Hydraulic Works) Design Revision: Responsible for Cay Dam, HEPP and Material Areas EIA Report preparation and co-ordinating the EIA studies.
