Nature of works:
The wing of hypersonic research vehicle is modelled using NASTRAN and ANSYS 5.4 package. The materials proposed for the wing include carbon epoxy for wing panel, stiffeners, spars, ribs and carbon-carbon composite for leading edge and silica tile for thermal protecting system (TPS). Five spars and four ribs were used for wing structure and shell63 and beam elements were chosen to mesh the model. The Finite Element Analysis performed with NASTRAN and ANSYS 5.4 software to determine the Displacement and Thermal stress distribution on the wing structure for different temperature conditions. Similarly structural analysis has been done by applying pressure load and the displacement and stress at various locations of HRV wing was found out.
