CAREER SUMMARY:
In six years with Sempra Energy, I have acquired a broad experience in the power industry, specifically high voltage transmission systems. I am currently leading a technical team through an accelerated regulatory process. Prior to my current position, I held positions in marketing, operations, project management, and high tech manufacturing.

Sempra Energy- San Diego Gas & Electric
Sempra Energy is a Fortune 500 energy services company. SDG&E, owned by Sempra, is a regulated utility in the State of California. It owns and operates generation, transmission, and distribution systems to serve approximately 1.3 million electric and gas customers.
Senior Engineer-Transmission Planning: 4/07-Present
* Manage the annual Transmission System Assessment process, including basecase powerflow creation, steady state, transient, post-transient, and short circuit analysis, project identification and evaluation, area and regional presentation of expansion plans, and report writing.
* Manage associate engineers and interns assigned to the Transmission System Assessment team, providing their assigned work and subsequent review, and conducting training of powerflow analysis, regulatory environment, and project approval processes.
* Perform assignments on External Systems teams, including National Electric Reliability Council (NERC) Compliance audits, Independent System Operator (ISO) liaison, regional system studies, and regional technical committees.
* Perform technical data request analysis and response for the Sunrise Powerlink project, a proposed 500 kV tieline that provides reliability, economic, and renewable integration benefits.
Engineer I/II-Transmission Planning: 4/05-4/07
* Performed and managed the annual Transmission System Assessment process (see above).
* Completed interconnection studies for proposed wind generation.
* Completed three consultant-led studies, covering large-scale wind farm integration, long-term transmission plans.
* Department representative for project teams, including new transmission and distribution substations, large load interconnection, and bulk power transformer procurement.
Associate Engineer: 10/03- 4/05
* Transmission Project Management- Performed various project management tasks on combined cycle generation, solar generation, and 230 kV transmission projects, including public utilities commission reporting, financial projection, and construction meetings.
* Distribution Operations Center- Proposed system reliability improvements, distribution equipment replacement and upgrade. Evaluated economics of a change to labor contract. Investigated various customer problems.
* Commercial and Industrial Services- Provided technical support to large customers, evaluating customer problems, identifying and researching energy efficient equipment, and installing energy efficient equipment and/or demand response programs through on-site customer audits.
