Full-time position working directly with clients as main technical contact and/or internally within the company on various projects from conceptual design through manufacture. This included a wide variety of electro-mechanical projects in the medical, power generation, textile manufacturing, communication, consumer product, and aerospace industries. Some of the clients include: DuPont, Siemens Power Generation, ADSI, ITT, TTI, Okuma, Schramm, Mitsubishi Power Systems, Honeywell, Kensey-Nash, Stryker, Lockheed-Martin and Becton-Dickinson.

Management and design responsibilities

- Coordinated with client's engineering, management, and manufacturing personnel to establish design content, delivery dates, and cost tracking as per the client's existing processes.
- Provided estimates to internal senior management for quoting purposes per project and design requirements.
- Worked directly with client engineering and designers from initial design concept through final documentation and release.
- Determined and/or applied clients' engineering and documentation standards including parametric modeling criteria, assembly structure, design techniques and drafting standards along with GD&T as required.

Technical knowledge and proficiencies

- Multiple CAD software including one or more of the following per project; ProEngineer Release 14 through Wildfire 4, Solidworks 2004 thru 2008, AutoCAD 12 thru 2006 and Unigrahics Versions 9 thru 15.
- Remotely access database file management systems as per customer requirements. These include Intralink & Windchill for ProEngineer and PDMWorks for Solidworks.
- Utilize BOM creation and file management software in client's SAP system, along with coordinating workload status using Central Desktop and Microsoft Office software for data and schedule reporting.
- Design and document plastic molded parts for prototype and manufacturing situations utilizing blow molded, thermoforming and injection molded design processes and principles per project requirements. This includes the use of parametric solid modeling and surfacing techniques.
- Design sheet metal parts and supply flat layouts based on manufacture specific bending information.
- Create casting and machining models along with associated documentation utilizing ProEngineer.
- Work with client(s) to establish engineering and drafting documentation standards based existing ANSI, ISO & ASME standards along with other criteria specific to clients design applications including solid modeling standards, hardware libraries, formats, templates and start parts.

Additional Skills

- Certified PTC trainer for ProCabling and Routed System Designer (RSD) up to and including Wildfire 3. Conducted onsite training classes at various companies including but not limited to NASA (FL), Sandia National Laboratories (NM), Raytheon, and Eaton.

- Work as a consultant with ITT Wedeco on a beta project to evaluate RSD software for implementation based on existing documentation standards.
o Determined and created process in RSD to make ladder diagrams (horiz. US standard), for large multipage designs while maintaining intelligence throughout.
o Created beta project design including all required catalog items, properties, and intelligent multipage ladder diagrams of a large-scale design for evaluation purposes.

Full-time position designing and documenting various products in the electronic sensor industry for military and commercial applications along with managing the database for two CAD systems, (CADRA, Personal Designer).

This position entailed creating and revising engineering and manufacturing documentation from sketches and verbal instructions, along with design work on various new products. Some of these products included Accelerometers, Inclinometers, Linear and Rotary position sensors and pressure transducers. These products varied in usage from basic industrial to aerospace along with conforming to applicable Mil-Specs including DOD-STD-100/1000. All documentation was created utilized GD&T and meet ANSI Y14.5M (1982) standards. Types of documentation included assemblies, assembly procedures, details, weldments, castings, silkscreens, fabrication drawings, artwork and fixtures for assembly and test procedures.

This position also required utilizing CAD (ADRA & Protel) system for creating standard and surface mount printed circuit boards from Engineer's schematics and verbal instructions.

Full-time position at the R&D/Production facility. This position entailed the completion of full documentation packages for various types of medical devices.

The position required creating, changing and structuring the documentation system so it would be usable for production. The documentation generally included detailed metal and plastic work, PC boards, assembly and parts lists and assembly and test procedures.
