Working directly with Controllers, Managers and support staff in areas of Finance, Accounting, Project Cost, Taxes and Analytical Review of difficult problem areas. • Most recent project required the development of a systematic method of tracking the work in process costs, revenue and expense for each of over 400 (project) cost centers in one region and over 100 in another region.
• Improved cost control accuracy by combining the two unique location references and developed an integrated document which could track the work in process not only by physical location, but also by specific job costing category, while monitoring the appropriate purchase orders (AFE’s), invoices and specific approval processes.
• Enhanced reporting presentation by assisting the project cost accounting department to record the billings to date on each location and prepare a monthly P & L schedule which management could use in determining the achievement of target margin and profitability goals, periodic progress reports and in the monthly corporate consolidation process.
• Improved communications by establishing a new, more favorable communications link between the project managers, project engineers and the accounting managers and oversaw the timely flow of documentation between the (field) operations function and the regional recording function.
• Improved recording accuracy by creating an orderly method tracking items in process through the procedures of submission for recording and verification and eventual vendor payments from both the outgoing and incoming accounting systems.
• Reduced errors and delays by maintaining cost control during the conversion process, with an acute watch for potential duplications in vendor set up and invoicing.
• Improved profitability. The project was completed exceeding profit targets and documentation was provided to the client for use in year end processing and audit review preparation.

Directly responsible for the organization and management of all aspects of finance and accounting of a start up crane (heavy lift) operation consisting of 34 cranes worth $150 million with service contracts in four countries including the Caspian Region and Russia, and employing 60 management, service and support specialists.
• Preserved revenue by successfully implementing a useful, simplified cash flow forecast assisting senior management to control current cash and make timely appropriate cost decisions regarding contracting, service operations, maintenance and repairs and related purchases.

Directly responsible for the financial and administrative functions supporting seven expatriates and thirteen nationals engaged in a major crude oil pipeline reconstruction project in the Caspian region of western Kazakhstan and southern Russia. Successfully introduced Western methods of financial reporting, project cost controls, documentation and relational responsibility. Developing Russian language skills.
• Improved accountability by designing and implementing a detailed cost tracking system of invoice control for contractors supporting the various aspects of the project including engineering design, construction, transportation and medical services.
• Increased productivity by coordinating and managing the sensitive, critical and detailed process of accumulating, organizing and presenting technical and personal data for submission to local governmental units controlling the application and issuance of work permits for foreign workers; all permits applied for were issued.

Developed and managed the Revenue Accounting Group and staff of petroleum engineers, economists and accountants involved in recording and reporting field production, revenue recognition, accounting procedures and marketing agreements for the sale of crude oil and refinery products. Worked closely with Field (Well) Operations and Production Engineering to record daily production data (220 active wells). Average monthly gross sales revenue $20 million USD.
• Increased gross revenue recognition by implementing new tracking system to record more accurate data regarding production and subsequent quantity of refinery products.
• Improved marketing effectiveness by designing and implementing a new system of recording, tracking and managing crude oil and product inventories.
• Reduced expenses by introducing a simplified method of accounting, which improved the accuracy in recording costs and pricing of production purchased from a joint venture partner.
• Improved cash flow by designing and implementing an automated and integrated refinery product invoicing system assisting also in the management of related refinery product inventories, tax accounting and the effects of foreign currency fluctuations.
