Appointed QA Manager on the construction of a new all-purpose stadium with a retractable roof and playing field. Laid off due to company's loss of their contract.

JAN 03 to JUNE 04: QA Manager, New Convention Ctr., San Juan, PR
On contract to Moody International, Houston, TX
QA Manager on a new $billion, 600,000 sq. ft., convention center in "The Golden Triangle" area of San Juan. Supervised five inspection personnel - Wrote the Site Execution Manual consisting of ten site procedures - Responsible for the documentation of all inspections and non-conformances - Attended weekly construction and pre-construction meetings – Responsible for enforcing AWS codes (D1.1 and D1.3), drawings, AISC requirements, contract specifications and safety program. Contractors: Amer. Bridge (erector) & Hardin/QB (Constr'n. Mgr.)

JULY 01 to June 03: QC Inspector on the new adult and juvenile correctional facilities in Phoenix, Arizona.

AUG 00 to JULY 01: QA Seismic Bridge Inspector for San Fran Bay area, CA
On contract to Cal Trans
Performed source inspections on bolt assemblies, rebar installation, structural steel component fabrication and other materials. Also, performed surveillance of in-process welding, pile driving, coatings applications, bolting, and concrete pours related to retro-fitting of bridges by the state of California.
JUNE 99 – June 00: Sr. NDT Instructor for Saudi Aramco, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Designed training materials based upon principles of "Training by Objectives" and Saudi Aramco training standards. Also, performed classroom training in PT and MT NDT test methods to Saudi Aramco inspection and engineering personnel. Duties included administration of qualification tests. Attended Saudi Aramco's Trainer Workshop Series of classes on Training by Objectives. Certified as a Senior NDT Instructor by Saudi Aramco.

JUNE 98 – JUNE 99: Lead inspector on the Miller Park Stadium's retractable roof project, constructed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Responsible for inspection of welded steel components and repairs of failed welds fabricated in Mainland China. Duties also included supervision of repair personnel; performance of UT, MT, and PT testing; and surveillance of welding per AWS D1.1 requirements.

OCT 91 - MAY 98: Cross-Cultural Training Specialist for the China Productivity Center, Taiwan's premier business consulting firm in Taipei. Duties included designing and teaching courses to assist personnel of international companies to improve globalization efforts. Later, appointed Project Manager of the new Department of Internationalization in the World Trade Center Taichung. Was concurrently the exclusive recruiting agent for Western International University, a fully accredited graduate school located in Phoenix, Arizona. Speech writer for mayor of Taichung. Also, designed promotional product brochures.

JULY 90 - JULY 91: Site QA Manager for NUC (Nuclear Underwater Constructors) on the re-rack project at the Kuosheng Nuclear Power Generating Station in Chin Shan, Taiwan. Was responsible for administration of the QA program per 10 CFR 50 requirements. Managed QC and NDT personnel and acted as liaison between contractor and client. Performed procedure writing, documentation control, as-building of drawings and resolution of quality related problems. Also, worked as a volunteer English teacher to Kuosheng personnel to promote good relations between client and contractor.

APR 85 - JULY 90: CONTRACT ENGINEER on numerous ambitious

QC Engineer on contract to GE Nuclear Energy (GENE)
Oyster Creek Nuclear Station, Forked River, New Jersey
Responsible for compliance surveillance and coordination of activities related to modification, repair and maintenance of re-circulation valves, hydraulic control units, control rod drives, and main-steam isolation valves. Also performed welding surveillance, documentation review, hydrostatic testing. (13R Outage)

Field Engineer on contract to Amspec International
Hess Oil Refinery, St Croix, USVI - Maintenance Shutdown
Performed the following: Isometric drawing walk-downs; visual weld inspections; welding surveillance and NDT of newly completed welds; and, UT thickness gauging of in-service piping, components, and vessels.

QC Inspector on contract to H. C. Price Co.
Prudhoe Bay - BP Exploration Co. - Maintenance Shutdown
Performed surveillance and final inspections of welds related to piping and related supports; administered welder qualification tests, bolt torque verification; and, hydrostatic testing of piping sub-systems.

QC Engineer contracted to Law Engineering for APS
Palo Verde Nuclear Station, Wintersburg, Arizona
Responsible for ensuring the integrity of structural beams and columns to be used in the construction of three new Command Control Centers. Authorized
Inspector of record for all welding related to column splices, moment connections and beam welding.

QC/NDT Inspector for Sergent, Hauskins and Beckwith
Casino/Hotel renovations and expansions in Reno, Nevada
Authorized Inspector for structural steel erection on statically loaded building additions per AWS D1.1 requirements. Also, provided UT inspection of all moment connections, column splices and beam connections.

Start-up Engineer on contract to Caltest for APS
Palo Verde Nuclear Station, Wintersburg, Arizona
Cognizant Engineer responsible for field surveillance walk-downs during low power operation for detection of design problems that be detrimental to safe operation of the plant under full power. Also, performed Hot Functional Testing, Steady State Vibration, Dynamic Transient Testing, drawing walk-downs, and documentation review. Later, part of a team assembled to process data from the start-up testing phase into a usable baseline profile.

AUG 83 - APR 85: Field Engineer on contract to Tech Aid Services
Diablo Canyon Nuclear Station, Avila Beach, California
Member of a special engineering team assembled to upgrade large bore piping and related supports, rupture restraints, snubbers and hangers to meet newly established seismic requirements. Duties also included as-built drawing review for verification of existing conditions. Was later assigned to a task force to expedite resolution of discrepant documentation items in preparation of N5 requirements for licensing.

OCT 77 - JULY 83: QC/NDT Inspector on contract to WPPSS
Hanford Nuclear Reservation, Richland, Washington
Responsible for certifying the integrity of completed welds related to ASME code class piping, components, and pressure vessels including NSSS, Reactors and steam generators. Supervised in-process welding to assure adherence to controlled procedures. Verified compliance related to materials trace-ability, filler metal control and cleanness requirements. Also, performed surveillance of final settings of large vessels. (i.e. - reactor, steam generators, etc.)
