CAREER OVERVIEW
BRUNEL ENERGY - Bangkok Thailand
JOB TITLE: Well Services Engineer, Subsurface Operations UNOCAL (Thailand) Co. Ltd.
October 1, 2001 - June 30, 2002 9 Months
SUMMARY:
I was hired as a consultant in the Subsurface Operations - Well Services Department for Unocal Thailand. I was responsible for preparing and issuing well work requisitions WWR's for all UNOCAL's asset groups encompassing majority of production platforms in the Bay of Thailand. I completed approximately 162 work requisitions for conventional 3-1/2¡¨, 2-7/8¡¨ slim and ultra slim-hole completion (gas, oil and condensate) wells. These programs were used for water shut-off (tubing patches, cement squeezes, drillable/permanent bridge plug placement), tubing acid clean out, acid stimulation, perforation/re-perforation, swabbing, tubing cutting, single and multi flow meter surveys as well as total well abandonment. Other programs included wireline gauge and tool retrieval requirements using their heavy-duty wireline unit as well as detailed fishing operations using both their 150/250 TN snubbing units. I was also responsible for updating and maintaining their daily operational database for each requisition, I prepared one asset group operation budget for initial perforation and I helped whenever needed to support the junior Thai engineers.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
* Assisted in an operational cost saving of approximately $200,000 USD as a result of a change in work requisition from a second programmed subbing/fishing to a tubing cutting operation to retrieve/ eliminate a stuck dummy separation tool.
* Assisted in optimizing the perforating process.
* Updated well database for all the wells as requested.
* Performed multi tasks with all operating and asset groups to co-ordinate all the work order requisitions.
HOUSTON ASSOCIATES LTD. - Bangkok Thailand December 1, 1998 - September 30, 2001 2.5 Years
I worked as a consultant to generate system computer database and accounting system for financial advisor and currency trader. I continued to maintain the system as well as support the process.
SAUDI ARABIA OIL COMPANY LTD. - Saudi Arabia
JOB TITLE: Production Engineer
November 1994 - September 23, 1998 4.0 Years
SUMMARY:
I was transferred from the Drilling Department in Dhahran to field production operations in Udhailiyah.
I was responsible for seawater injection wells that were fed from two seawater injection facilities (WIP-4 and WIP-5). These wells cumulatively injected +1,000,000 BWPD in a portion of the giant Ghawar Field. My duties included forecasting and maintaining daily as well as future injection rates, work over design, acid stimulation programs, flow meter surveying and water flood sweep optimization activities using pressure transient nodal analysis Fekete software for 103 water wells and related pipelines. I prepared, coordinated with the appropriate operating groups, supervised all on-site activities and completed summary reports for all vertical, directional and horizontal wells that required falloff testing for Injectivity index (II¡¨s) analysis, clean-out/back-flow, acid stimulation, work over, flow meter PLT survey requirements as well as anything related to change in configuration of surface piping. The daily injection data PTT received is obtained from solar powered digital flow meters, which is collected once per month and downloaded to the mainframe data system. I provided training and guidance to the Saudi engineers wherever needed. I provided the yearly performance data for each area which was inputted into the yearly management overall field review summary.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
* Completed re-evaluation of all well injectivity index's (II¡¦s) which confirmed relative permeability and skin levels. This re-evaluation led further to possible fault/fracture interference in some of the wells, which was later substantiated through new 3D seismic.
* I was able to multi task all the pressure transient analysis's required for all the 103 wells.
* Completed study on multi rate flow meter PLT survey on existing horizontal wells. Conclusion indicated 80% flow went into the first 280 feet of the 2000-ft horizontal lateral section.
JOB TITLE: Senior Drilling Engineering/Operations - Vertical/Horizontal Oil Development
1993 - 1994 1.5 Year
I was responsible for AFE preparation, well design, drilling, completion and pre-stimulation programs prior to production for horizontal well program in the Ghawar and Ras Tanura oil producting fields. Other duties included training Saudi engineering staff, planning, reviewing/updating and generating third party contracts and on-site drilling engineering supervision for all wells programmed.
JOB TITLE: Drilling Engineering/Operations - Exploration
September,13 1991 - October 1993 2.0 Years
I was responsible for AFE preparation, well design (deep high-pressure gas), preparing drilling and testing programs as well as reviewing/updating and generating third party contracts for the exploration program. These exploration wells drilled and tested were located N. W. Saudi Arabia (south of Iraqi Border), Red Sea (Yanbu and Jedda) as well as in Jizan (north of the Yemen border). A total of 11 exploration wells were drilled to approximately +13,000¡¦ TVD (BHT 425 degree F) and evaluated. Other duties included training Saudi engineering staff and on-site drilling engineering supervision for all programmed wells.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
* Recommended the use of full bore testing tools in conjunction with casing perforating guns. The introduction of these tools further led to surface readout equipment, which saved operational time, cost and was safer and more efficient for the HPHT wells that we drilled and evaluated.
* Provided support in the modification of the polymer drilling fluid used to handle the extreme high BHT and CO2 content.
GULF CANADA RESOURCES LTD., Calgary Alberta Canada
JOB TITLE: Senior Drilling Engineer
November 1990 - May 1991 8.0 Months
SUMMARY:
Reported to the Manager of the International Operations, responsible for offshore drilling and production in co-ordination with the Exploration and Law Departments. The offshore wells were drilled using Gulf Canada's drilling vessels Kulluk and Molikpaq. During this time I assisted the development for the use of full bore testing tools along with improving multizone/co-mingle perforation using 4¡¨ perforating guns. I assisted in the incorporation of using turbo drills dressed with diamond bits, which dramatically increased the ROP in both the 12-1/4¡¨ and 8-1/2¡¨ hole sections. I assisted in the development of the glory hole bit, which allowed the hole and steel caisson to be drilled and set at the same time.
I was seconded/transferred to Mobil Oil's St John's office to work offshore as an on-site drilling engineer for a one-year period (1983-84) in the Hibernia field. I was responsible for on-site drilling, coring, testing and abandonment requirements for Hibernia K-14 and C-96 the last two exploration wells drilled in the Hibernia field. Both the Smedveg West Venture and Sonat John Shaw two semi-submersibles were contracted to drill these wells. I reported to Mobil's St. John's office during this period.
Gulf Canada Resources contracted the Sonat John Shaw and drilled one exploration well located south of the Hibernia field. I was responsible for the on-site drilling, testing and abandonment requirements for South Mara-C13 well.

During this period I spent several months providing on-site drilling engineering support on Dome Petroleum-Canmar drill ships 1-4 in the Beaufort Sea. I attended Gulf Oil Mud School in Houston, Halliburton production training in Duncan Oklahoma as well as Schlumberger School for production and log analysis as well as many other related schools.
