Part of the engineering & design team at site. The upgrade consisted of constructing an additional Hydrocracker, Visbreaker, Hydrogen Plant & associated utility units. There were 5,500 instrument loops & over 35,000 instrument tag numbers. Answered technical queries compiled by the construction contractor (CCC). Ordered additional materials overlooked by the engineering team in London. Designed instrument loops & created MTOs’ to comply with ARAMCO standards. Assisted contractor to fault find when loop checking through vendor equipment.

                    Location; Iran

Part of the Project Management Team ensuring that the Instrument Contractor complied with NIOC & API standards. Advised the contractor on how to conform to the construction schedule. Witnessed all aspects of installation of the construction phase, compiled punch lists. Gave assistance to management in discussions with the client & offered alternative solutions to problems or deviations. Coordinated the contractors work with other disciplines working in the same area. Confirmed that progress claimed conformed to work carried out. Provided fault-finding assistance during loop checking through to two Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS & a relay based ESD system.

Pre-commissioning of complex control system loops through to a Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS.

Part of the Project Management Team (PMC) on the construction of a grass roots Oil Refinery in India. Responsibilities included advising and supervising contractors on proper work practices and industrial norms associated with Instrumentation/Electrical Installation. Reviewing design drawings, procedures, specifications and final documentation for two Honeywell TDC 3000’s & seven Satellite Rack Rooms. Carried out construction of a Tokyo Keiso Tank Gauging system.
January 92 to March 94            Company; (Dynarabia) Aramco

Retrofit & commissioning of a mothballed GOSP. Four Honeywell TDC 3000’s installed with ‘smart’ transmitters increased throughput by 30%. Supervised 20 Expatriate & local technicians on the installation of. Assisted with the development & reviewed the ladder logic of a Triconex PLC ESD system. Carried out orifice plate (Oricalc) & control valve (Fisher, version 1.1) sizing calculations using PC. Witnessed loop checks through to SCADA & supplied the contractor the solutions to design or engineering problems.

Part of the expatriate team of supervisors on a LNG plant. Assisted with the creation of a control valve spares catalogue for the plant.
