Based in Syria, responsible for supervising routine and breakdown maintenance, repairs modifications and preparations for inspection of containment equipment including pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, piping and pipelines and pressure relieving devises.

Main duties; Planning of shutdown activities in liaison with operations and assisting in the preparation of shutdown plans. Preparation of Scope of Work for repairs, preventative maintenance, modifications and preparation of contract work orders and work estimates.

Forecasting material requirements for shutdown work, repairs and modifications, including all administrative tasks and liaison with the supply department. Supervision of maintenance contractor workforce during execution of work.
Ensuring that all HSE requirements, including NORM, are complied with as per the permit to work and operational procedures.

Senior Static Equipment Engineer

Based in DPU-B (south of Oman), was responsible for overseeing the corrosion monitoring project for all on-plot pipe work, crude oil flow lines and gas lift lines. The supervision of UT inspection personnel, field draughtsmen and Autocad draughtsmen making a total workforce of 40 personnel.

Main duties; Managing the planning and implementation of a programme for corrosion monitoring of process pipe work. Ensuring the inspection and reporting was carried out to high standards, writing concise factual reports highlighting serious defects that required corrective measures to be taken. Control and initiation of Permits to Work, holding HSE meetings/toolbox talks and maintaining safety standards required by the client. Organising transport and accommodation in the various areas within South Oman. The utilisation of Microsoft software, Word, Excel, IDAS, Infomaker and Pacer were used to provide an integrated inspection system that was combined with EPMARS to manage and maintain an operable ongoing inspection programme.

May 1989 – August 1994. PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT, OMAN.

Static Equipment Supervisor

Responsible for the static equipment plant within DPU-B (south of Oman) for the implementation and follow through of the static equipment maintenance schedule tasked by PDO planning, through the appointed contractor.

Main duties; Primary function was to act as a company site representative for the painting and coating service contract to implement the requirements of the BOR/1 HSE plan. To carry out worksite/industrial yard HSE inspections on a monthly basis and mini audits as per BOR/1 audit programme. To monitor the performance of the painting and coating contractor in terms of HSE and financial and contractual obligations. To arrange for the execution of the static equipment maintenance programme to ensure work would start on or before the inspection due date. To review the tank and vessel programme supplied through planning and to liaise with the contractor to optimise resource planning. To supervise the UT inspection programme for static equipment of tanks and vessels throughout South Oman.

October 1988 – May 1989 SPECIAL TECHNICAL SERVICES –
CONTRACTED TO PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT, OMAN.
(Date to PDO – 14/01/89)

Planning Supervisor

Transferred from Fahud to Marmul originally as Condition Monitoring Supervisor. Due to major internal reorganisation was appointed Regional Planner responsible for the schedulers in outer regional locations.

Main duties; Was tasked with preparing the 1989 static equipment maintenance schedule and unspecified budget revision, to set up a separate sub-section maintenance section between PDO and contractors for all overdue static equipment and relief valves.

September 1984 – October 1989 SPECIAL TECHNICAL SERVICES –
CONTRACTED TO PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT, OMAN.

Mechanical Supervisor

Main duties; EPMARS (TEROMAN) trainer for the North of Oman areas. Responsible for training PDO personnel in North Oman, initially on basic functions, operation and key elements of the system. Further responsibilities included maintaining the update of the database and providing specific reports through the 'Quiz' report generating function.

Mechanical/Planning Supervisor

During the period as relief planner, was responsible for correlating all technical data and documentation pertinent to the plant prior to the acceptance of the Hewlett Packard maintenance management computerised planning system.

Mechanical Superintendent

Responsibilities were the management of the mechanical division involving the planning, maintenance and repair of shipboard and workshop activities. Also, responsible for the organisation and training of the mechanical departments RSNF counterpart training scheme.

Main duties; Responsibility of mechanical workforce of 80 mixed nationality personnel employed on the maintenance of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces vessels and workshops in Jubali, Saudi Arabia.
