MAJOR CAREER ACHIEVEMENT:
During my employment tenure in Indo-German petrochemicals, As a group leader, I was responsible and successfully completed the major assignment of up gradation work of MOD-30 SCADA & Siemens PLC system to Yokogawa CENTUM-CS 3000 distributed control system, the largest existing system.
Individually carried out the entire up gradation work for both Pthaliec & Maliec anhydride plants without the involvement of vendor engineer.

Scope of work : Installation, Commissioning, Inspection,
Maintenance & trouble shooting of field Instrumentation and systems.

Duties & Responsibilities :
I. DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEM:
1)Responsible for Independently carrying out entire configuration of one petrochemical plant on Centum-Cs-DCS with out the involvement of our consultant Lurgi(gmbh) or Yokogawa engineer in just seven days time which was a remarkable acheivement for me and my company.
2)To carry out configurations on Intellusion Fix and ABB PC-30 SCADA also
to carry out integration of Fix with Centum-Cs DCS.
3)To carry out integration of siemens 115U PLC with Centum-Cs-3000 also
to carry out the required configurations.
4)To carry out logic making and commissioning of utilities like DM
plants,nitrogen plants on siemens 115U PLC.
5) To carry out fault finding of the above mentioned systems.
6) To carry out installation and commissioning of the above mentioned systems.
7) Responsible for all the checkups required before the startup of main plant
and utilities.Simulate the desired conditions and see to it that all the hardware
and software is functioning ok.
8) Responsible for finding the cause of plant/utilities trip.
9)To maintain detailed technical record of each instrument/system including
storage and control of process computer software control configurations.
10)To Provide technical functional support to instrument engineers on complex
control system faults.
11)To Prepare list of all the spares required and also from time to time checks
material stock available and prepares materials requisition for the out of stock

II FIELD MAINTENANCE:
1.To carry out installation, commissioning, inspection, startup and
maintenance jobs of 4 petrochemical plants, acted as a group
leader to carry out the said activities of 2 out of the 4 plants.
2.To Maintain and investigate component and system faults and to make
recommendation to prevent a re-occurrence.
3. To carry out replacement and up gradation of pneumatic instruments with
smart and intelligent instruments.
4. To carry out commissioning & maintenance jobs in accordance with all the
safety rules and in order to avoid accidents.
5. To keep good knowledge about international codes, standards & Industrial
safety acts.
6.To keep good knowledge on detail & design engineering. Understands P& Ids,
hook- ups, loop wiring diagrams, signal flow diagrams.
7. To provide technical & functional support to instrument engineers on resolving
complex control system faults.
8. Responsible for on line job training on systems & field instruments to
Instrument Engineers & Sr. Technicians to maintain/improve their efficiency.
9. To provide necessary technical hints to instruments engineers to ensure
timely completion of shutdown overhaul works. To notify and to rectify
contractor work defects.
10.To determine work methods for existing maintenance work in accordance with
established technical and professional engineering standards.
11.To prepare required spare parts list and also from time to time check
material stock available and prepare materials requisition for the out of
stock material and to do necessary follow up with the supplier.
12.To carry out calibration of instruments, fault finding and rectify the fault in
order to avoid a re-occurrence.
13.To attend weekly meetings with Operation, Mechanical & Electrical
departments.

15. To plan corrective & shutdown jobs in advance. To keep ready all the spares,
spec sheets & settings in advance. Also to plan manpower distribution

Duties and responsibilities:
Distributed control system(DCS):
1. Carried out loop checks,loop tuning,commissioning of loops of main plant and
utilities like boilers,compressors,mixed beds,desalination plants,etc. in the
environment of Foxbors IA series DCS.
2. Carried out configuration of intelligent transmitters from DCS.
3. Carried out loop configurations,display building and configurations.
4. Carried out fault finding of system.
5. Carried out weekly,quaterly and half yearly maintenance.
6. Maintained necessary spares required.
FIELD MAINTENANCE:
1).To carry out day to day jobs in accordance with safety rules .
2).Responsible for carrying out job inspection,startup and fault finding of newely
commissioned plants\utilities
3).Responsible for fault finding during start up problems or after trip of any of the
above mentioned areas.
4).To maintain history record of each instrument and special records for critical
ones
5).To carry out up gradation of instruments.To perform calibration of
smart,intelligent transmitters from DCS,hand held calibrators,front displays
also using dead weight testors,manometers and DP gauges.
6).To carry out calibration of control valves,PRV,DPRV,positioners,I\ps.
7).From time to time checks for the spares available and if found out of or
minimum stock generates a purchase request. Also checks if often required
and other spares are available in the department in order to save time during
emergency.
8).During the shift start go through the log and then visit control room for any inst
Problems and then as per the corrective/preventive jobs distribute them among
the sr. foremen.
9).Problem related to trip/critical loops are informed to operations in order to
bypass/take loop in man mode or whatever action required.
10).Before start up of any jobs permits are taken are taken to perform that job & if
the job is very imp & urgent then it is performed with out issuing a permit but
by informing the Sr. Engineer operation & instrument (KNPC instruction).
11).As per the shutdowns planned for maintenance all the spares are arranged in
advance, keep all the specification sheets ready required for calibration.
12).Whenever required carry out fault findings of ESD, DCS, and
PLC.Keep good knowledge about these systems & also attend training from
time to time.
13).Attend safety meetings. Safety exams are conducted at engineer/ sr.
foreman level during the year starting and a score of >90% is compulsory.
14).Keep good knowledge about Ex-proof instruments, Intrinsically safe
instruments area classification, international codes & standards.
