Chemical Treatment Coordinator

Responsible for monitoring and improving chemical treatments to prevent internal corrosion and scaling in land and offshore oil and gas production facilities (PDVSA - Western Division), including 30 water injection plants, 10 gas plants, and 2 tank farms, among others.
Implemented and supervised maintenance and inspection programs and practices in gas, oil and water facilities based on statistical and operational data. Maintained operational data registers.
Supervised and coordinated company and external inspectors.
Developed, implemented and supervised chemical treatment field tests on biocides, oxygen scavengers, flocculants, corrosion and scale inhibitors.
Coordinated and participated on work teams within the company and with outsourcing companies, contractors and suppliers.
Performed Quality Assurance of chemical treatment products.
Developed and coordinated field tests and procedures to clean water injection pipelines and wells in response to a mayor field problem.
Improved oxygen stripping process in water injection plants reducing from 1 to 0.03 ppm the dissolved oxygen concentration and stripping tower maintenance from 4 to 1 per year.
Developed corporate standards and procedures covering field instructions on chemical treatment, operations, safety, and ISO9000 documents.

Conducted laboratory and field tests on low injection rates and plugging due to corrosion problems in water injection wells and proposed a downhole cleaning procedure increasing inyectivity in pilot tests.
Reduced chemical treatment costs in water injection plants by 30% modifying operational practices with annual savings of $ 400,000 per year.
