OBJECTIVE

These team projects and my experiences as Network Engineer, Sales Executive, & Area Manager has enhanced my critical thinking and problem solving skills. WORK HISTORY
Dubai Municipality July '99 – To date
* Network Engineer
Provided network technical support to Dubai Municipality users in HQ buildings & remote locations.
Provided remote locations with various network connectivity (ISDN, Dial-up, Leased, PRI, Frame Relay at different bandwidths). Acted as part of team that extended the services from 5 remote locations 1999 to over 85remote location scattered all over Dubai Emirate to date.
Worked with Unit team in having Network Services standards that was implemented in DM General Projects, Unit workflow and played a major role to making Section Procedure Manual, and finally having network minimum requirements set in all DM projects.
Acted as part of a team in implementing network design change, Core switches upgrade; edge switches upgrade, routers upgrade, bandwidth upgrade, network support & monitoring including IOS and hardware versions.
Played a major role in approving and enhancing DM designs and drawings for network infrastructure for future projects, including supervising projects from day of civil work start to final network activation passing by issuing the BOQ and revising the supplier's quotes including supervising all civil work.
Administrated the WINS server, DHCP servers in Dubai Municipality Operations working recently with operations team & HP team members in upgrading the OS to WIN2K from NT4SP5.
Worked with Administration Department to eliminated duplications in data/voice lines and document all existing data lines new and existing with close coordination with ETISALAT (SP). On the other hand, I was part of a team who worked very hard to organize the network cabling in HQ server room and HQ buildings.
Supervised creating computer rooms in three major sites with close coordination with Operations unit implementing high standards of electrical and cabling infrastructure, using CAT5e UTP and fiber.
Troubleshoot all major & minor network problems in HQ or remote offices carrying a task of 2nd level support for our Information Department 1st level technicians.
Played a major role in determining the Unit and Users needs for budgeting & planning stages.
Configuring VLANs on Nortel Bay450, BP2000, Bay470, Bay420 Switches for DM building, Rashidiya CAN central backbone Nortel Accelar 8610 & HQ as well as Accelar 1200 Core switches then implementing the new 8610co switches as a backbone (this project was designed, tendered, configured 100% locally)
Configuring Cisco Routers on Remote location as well as DM central routers.
Configuring Nortel Accelars, 1200 at core Network switches and Accelar 8610.
Carried out administrative tasks for the Unit such as correspondents & internal memos including coordination with all vendors, suppliers and all Dubai Municipality Departments, Sections, and Units.
Carried out the planning stage for all remote sites Structured Cabling.
A member of the network team that carried out the planning stage for main router upgrades, configuration & installation (Cisco7505 +Cisco3660).
Excellent knowledge on Gigabit Network, design, implement, troubleshoot & maintenance.
Supervised and implemented Fiber link between three major locations (Campus Area Network) in Rashidiya.
Testing Performance & compatibility of various products (software and Hardware) to be used by Dubai Municipality after give a full report to the management with feedback and recommendations.
Acted as a leading member in evaluating new technologies to be used at DM (such as Voice over IP, IP Telephony, Wireless Network, Laser Technology) and the visibility in using it to enhance the existing network. Nevertheless, evaluated several products in the network field from vendors such as Foundry, Avaya, Alcatel, Lucent, Seimens & Extreme Networks range of products.
Working as instructor in giving courses in Windows 95 and e-mail for Dubai Municipality employees.
