A quick learner and a confident team member with good inter cultural communication, organisational and interdisciplinary skills. Accommodating, extrovert, adaptable and adventurous person.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

1999 - Present University of Southampton, United Kingdom
PhD Mechanical Engineering (Expect to finish May 2003)
PhD research project entitled 'Influence of Debris formation on electrostatic charge generation within tribocontacts' sponsored by the United States Navy (Office of Naval Research) and Smiths Aerospace. The University of Southampton has used electrostatic sensors to successfully detect precursor signals prior to significant adhesive wear failure of oil-lubricated contacts. The charge measured is thought to relate to lubricant degradation, surface charging and debris formation. This PhD research project aims to establish the charge levels and mechanisms associated with wear debris formation in oil lubricated contacts. The overall objective is to establish the degree of contributions of wear debris of different materials and morphologies to charge detected within a lubricated contact as well as downstream. The main application of this research is the remote real time / online condition monitoring of oil-lubricated mechanical systems. Main skills gained include:

* Real time / on line data acquisition, analysis and processing,
* Remote sensors design and development,
* Material tribological wear testing,
* Project management, technical writing and presentation

1997 - 1999 University of Salford, United Kingdom
BEng Mechanical Engineering (Second Class Upper 2:1)
Final year project was an experimental project entitled 'The Effects of Salt Contamination in Grease on the Wear of Bearings'.

1996-97 Centre of Preparatory Studies/ITM, Shah Alam, Malaysia
First Year of BEng Mechanical Engineering Degree course

1994-96 MARA Science College, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
