- Optimization of product slate taking PIMS runs and determination of optimum capacity of process unit for refinery expansion from 10.5 MMTPA to 32 MMTPA of crude throughput.
- Development of technical enquiry documents for different licensor packages. Development of feedstock characteristic data and derivation of delta yield and product properties.
- Reviewing new/alternative technologies and checking feasibility of process technologies to include in refinery expansion. The new technologies reviewed were LCO Hydrocracking for ULSD production, Superflex Plus unit for propylene maximization.

* Crude Evaluation:
Evaluated crude(s) from Indian subcontinent and Russian region.
- Compared whole crude properties with commercially available crudes.
- Recut the crudes using PAssMan and modeled new crude train in existing LP model.
- Established yield pattern and product properties of major crude cuts and compared with other crudes.
- Estimated product slates and GRMs based on current and future price scenarios.
- Prepared a management summary report.

* Custody/Operation/Updation/Maintenance of PIMS:-
In charge of LP software and PIMS model maintenance, training and development.
ü Ensured installation of latest updates of PIMS and coordinated with license providers for purchase of new software.
- Installed the above mentioned LP model at refinery site at Jamnagar and updated it as per the site requirements. This work was completed in a very short span of 7 days. (Received congratulatory note from the "Managing Director" of the organization)

- Studied approximately 90 critical parameters in refinery and determined impact of their deviation on daily gross margin.

* Commissioning, Performance Test Run, Revamping Strategies, Process Simulation:-
- Commissioned Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC) Unit. Prepared daily mass balance and technical report, coordinated with operations and various other groups to ensure smooth operation.
- Conducted a performance test run to evaluate revamping options. This test run provided a basis to top management to push operations and successfully resulted in increasing the throughput to 127%.
- Simulated FCC main column, strippers, absorber, debutanizer column etc. using Aspen Plus.
- Maintained the process simulation and kinetic models (Licensed by Aspen Technology Inc. and KBC Advance Technologies, Inc.) and upgraded and updated them.
- Fine tuned the FCC kinetic model using test run data.
- Performed feasibility study and estimated maximum allowable sulfur in unhydrotreated FCC feed when VGO Hydrotreater was shut down.
