SYNOPSIS:
I have a total of 18 years experience in the field of traffic and transportation planning and engineering. I am currently the Executive Director of Transport Schemes and Systems Sdn Bhd a firm involved in transport privatisation, planning and management consultancy work in Malaysia.

I started my career in Australia with the Road Traffic Authority of Victoria. I was responsible for the design and installation of traffic signals operating on the Sydney Coordinated Adaptive Traffic System (SCATS). I then worked with a New Zealand based Transport Consultant, Traffic Design Group in Wellington where he undertook junction design, signalised road network analysis, transport modelling and traffic impact studies.

I then returned to Malaysia and headed the Transport Department of HSS Integrated, an engineering consultancy, where I undertook traffic engineering and transport consultancy assignments. I was then involved in the set up of specialist transport consultancy firm, The MVA Consultancy in Malaysia. I was the Business Development Manager of MVA.

Subsequent to this I joined Hume Industries (Malaysia) Bhd - Privatization Division. His paricular portfolio was Transport Sector Privatization Projects and this involved technical, financial, legal and overall project management.

In early 1997 I joined Esprit Corporation Sdn Bhd to set up the Privatisation and Special Projects Division. I was to identify and lead Esprit's involvement in Transport Privatization in Malaysia and overseas. I developed two projects for implementation, however due to the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997/1998 it was deferred.

I then undertook Independent Consultancy assignments for Scott Wilson (Malaysia) and Integrated Accord Sdn Bhd. Subsequent to this I set up Transport Schemes and Systems Sdn Bhd to undertake Transport Privatisation, Planning and Management in Malaysia and overseas.

I have considerable experience in the development of Transport privatisation projects in Malaysia from Conceptual Stage to the Implementation Stage. I have been primarily responsible for the Kuala Lumpur North East Expressway and Klang Integrated Transportation System. In addition, I have vast and varied experience in identifying and evaluating potential Transport Privatisation projects, Strategic Transport Masterplanning, Traffic and Transportation Modelling, negotiating with Government, working with financial institutions on Project Financing and overall Project Economics.

My country experience includes Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Brunei and India.

I am currently on the roster of Independent Consultants with the World Bank and Asian Development Bank (DICON - consultant code 015906).
