JOB PROFILE

Yrs. 2003-2005:

Working as General Shift Engineer and Shift in- Charge. Present job responsibilities include the following:

* Running the plant with optimum efficiency and productivity on day- to -day basis.
* Troubleshooting and emergency handling.
* Plant start-up and shut-down.
* Coordinating with various departments viz.
maintenance, material, quality control, marketing, safety, environment etc. on routine basis as well as in case of emergencies.
* Generating various reports.
* Carrying various transactions in SAP PP, SD Modules as an end user
* Planning and scheduling planned shutdowns and start-ups.
* Monitoring the plant performance criteria.
* Studying and collecting data about long term plant problems and resolving them with the inputs from various agencies.
* Planning and implementation of modifications and improvements.
* Training and guiding the team of engineers and operators about Standard Operating Practices, Safe Operating Practices, Environmental requirements and technical matters regarding plant operations and monitoring.
* Arranging periodic Inter- departmental and safety committee coordination meetings.
* Planning and preparation of manpower shift schedules.
* Ensuring the observance of Safe Operating Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

Achievements:
* Witnessed guarantee test run of main plant, ancillary units like refrigeration units, centrifuges, clarifier, salt handling system etc.
* I was actively involved in the Capacity Expansion of the plant and HAZOP study for the same.
* Commissioned the Capacity expansion in scheduled time.
* Stabilized plant operations in the first year of operations.
* Planned, scheduled and executed Remembraning of the Electrolyzers (102*12 elements) in record time of 65 days without affecting production targets.
* As Shift-in-Charge saved costly plant shutdowns many a time, by timely intervention and managing the available resources optimally.

Commissioning and Operations Experience:

Yrs.1998-2002: The job as Project Engineer was carrying out various pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as follows.

* Supervising the erection of the plant piping and equipment.
* Verifying the erection against P&IDs and reporting the discrepancies to the concerned agencies.
* Checking the system from the angle of operational feasibility and correcting the shortcomings.
* Checking and modifying if required, various operating manuals in user-friendly format.
* I was also involved in P&ID reviews, monitoring of project implementation progress, stabilization, operations and troubleshooting of the plant.
