CAREER HISTORY

PTTEP / TOTALFINAELF THAILAND (Well Services Supervisor / Completion Engineer)

July 2000 – Present

As before, this position was mainly involved in supervising the running of high-pressure monobore gas well completions in the Bongkot Field in Southern Thailand. The job involved witnessing the assembly and pressure testing of all completion components onshore, then travelling offshore to run the completion. Made up the tallies, supervised all aspects of the running of the completion and the installation of the Xmas trees. Once the completion was run, compiled all the reports and sent them to the office in Bangkok. Also involved as Supervisor for E-line perforating, slick line and Coil Tubing supervision offshore.
The position also allowed for a lot work in the PTTEP Bangkok office during time off periods and when rig was sub-contracted to another operator (total 6 months). I was involved in compiling and evaluating tenders, final well reporting, completion program compilation, technical paper compilation and general completion engineering.

During 2002 was completely involved in a HWO campaign, from identification of tools and equipment, writing job procedures, standing instructions, programmes, prototype tool testing, etc. I then commissioned the rig and went offshore for an 8-week period as Company Rep for the 5 well workover programme implemented to replace damaged safety valves/ control lines. This involved cutting and removing the upper completion string (replacing it with a new DHSV package) and reconnecting a new tubing string and hanger system down hole.

BAKER OIL TOOLS (Consultant TST)

May 2000- June 2000

This job was running all Baker Oil Tools equipment that was available in the country for various Operators. Equipment consisted mainly of Liner Hangers and Completion equipment.

CALENERGY UK (Wireline Supervisor)

January 2000 – April 2000

Worked on investigation of loss of production. Investigations showed that the well was plugged with sand from perforations to fail pipe. After seven days offshore, abandoned job, recommending CT to remove sand.

TOTAL / PTTEP THAILAND (Well Services Supervisor)

March 1998 – August 1999

This position involved mainly working as a Completion Supervisor, installing monobore completions in the Bongkot Field in Southern Thailand (1 completion every +\- 10 days). The job involved witnessing the assembly and pressure testing of all completion components onshore, then travelling offshore to install the completion. Made up the tallies, supervised all aspects of the running of the completion and the installation of the Xmas trees. Once the completion was run, compiled all the reports and sent them to the office in Bangkok.

When not running completions, was also involved in the repairs of the wellheads / xmas trees, supervising electric line crews during perforating and logging and supervising coil tubing crews during the CT campaign. Jobs with the CT crews consisted of sand clean outs, N2 lifts, TCP perforating, memory PLT GR CCL runs, fishing for lost wireline / tools, balanced cement plugs, straddle inflate packers for zone treatment and TTRBP runs. Due to the end of the current drilling campaign, this position was terminated.
Also worked in the main PTTEP office in Bangkok and was involved in the control line analysis that was instigated due to well associated problems and instigated the recommendations. Was involved in setting up training seminars for running tubular equipment offshore using barrettes. Was also involved in the selection of the new generation SelecT cement through safety valves. Since that time 90 completions have now been run w/ no control line problems and no Safety Valve problems.

1995 – 1998 BAKER OIL TOOLS, ALGERIA (Field Operations Supervisor, Hassi Messaoud)

This position was responsible for the running of all Baker Oil Tools' activities in Algeria, including liner hangers, completions, surface safety, etc.

Another aspect of the job was the writing of job procedures, calculation of tubing movement and the drawing of well profiles and schematics that are required by the customer for programmes and end of well reports.

The assembly and testing of all completion and liner sub-assemblies were co-ordinated through the FOS and was responsible for the final delivery and quality package of the above-mentioned equipment.

Before being promoted to the above position, was a Senior TS-T working in Hassi Messaoud running Baker Oil Tools completion and liner equipment as well as installing surface safety systems. Due to the location of the above work and the inability of the operating customers to obtain service personnel, was greatly involved in the total package of the workscope. That meant running the production liner, supervising the clean out of the well, running the completion, installing the xmas tree and supervising the wireline crew. This occurred on all wells worked on. Was also involved in the supervision of snubbing and coil tubing operations. Also took care of the cross training of the TSTs so that they became adept in other field lines and services.

During a period at home, was contacted by IPM in Mossel bay, South Africa and worked for them as Well Services Supervisor on a subsea completion, installation of subsea wellhead, wirelining, well testing and ROV work.
