Assignment History/Experience:

SDS (Schlumberger Drilling Services) QHSE Manager Mar 02 to present - Based in Dubai. Visits to SDS operations (33 Rigs) including Oman, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Algeria, Gabon.

SDS Operations Manager, Algeria Nov 99 to Feb 02. Reporting to SDS General Manager.
Accountable for the safe, profitable and environmentally responsible performance of Drilling Services in the North Africa Geomarket (NAG). In charge of marketing and contracting all Drilling Services rigs in the North Africa, including HUNT drilling project in Niger (3 exploration wells with Rig 47). Managed to get a new contract for two land Rigs with BHP. Generating additional revenues of over $4 M by renting the extra camp caravans to Ourhoud. Managed to get a lump sum Rig move contract (Rig 36) with Sonatrach, Generating additional net of over $120k per year.

SDS Rig Manager Oman, Sept 98 to Oct 99. Reporting to Sedco Forex District Manager.
Responsible for the safe and profitable operation of Rig 91 and Rig 19 working for PDO (Shell). Managed to get a lump sum Rig move contract with TOTAL, Generating additional net of over $130k from one Rig move.

Sedco Forex District Manager Syria, July 94 to Aug 98. Reporting to Sedco Forex MEL Region Manager.
In charge of reorganizing the district and recovered lost Shell Business (4 Rigs contract lost in March 94). Managed to get a new contract with AFPC (Shell). Reactivating Rig 11 after being redundant for 2 years. In addition managed to rent an extra camp to Shell during the blowout accident in Syria, Generating additional revenues of over $430k.

Sedco Forex Rig Manager West Africa Nigeria - Port Harcourt, Jun 92 to Jun 94. Reporting to Sedco Forex District Manager.
Manager of two-swamp barge Searex 12 & 8, working for Shell. Managed one land Rig 24 drilled two wells for Chevron. Start up Jack-Up Sednes 202 for Abacan with Integrated Services.
Managed to get a contract with Shell to use the stacked swamp barge Searex 8 as accommodation barge for their employees, Generating additional revenues of over $780k.

Sedco Forex Rig Manager / Staff Engineer Nov 90 to May 92. Reporting to SYT Operations Manager.
In charge of 3 onshore drilling Rigs (11, 36, 33) based in Deer Ezzor. The Rigs were working for Shell (AFPC).

Sedco Forex Engineer Trainee Feb 88 to Oct 90
Trainee with Sedco Forex in Syria - rig operations hands on work up to Driller level.
Developed skills in rig management while receiving hands on, learning the operations of the maintenance departments and taking on responsibility for getting numerous rig site projects completed on time. My final project was on improving the land Rig move by using the rolling gear.

Education:
Sedco Forex, OFS and Schlumberger Drilling Services full training for the various positions held.
Mechanical Engineering, University of Damascus, Syria.
