RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA 08/2003 – present
Research Assistant, Flow Simulation of Downhole Fluids
Employed by the Louisiana State University as a research assistant and PhD student. Working on a research in characterization of water-oil transition zone near the wellbore with special interest in developing a new flow pattern and mathematical model based on physical and numerical experiments. Ongoing study achieves a big progress in dispersed flow and dynamic relative permeability. The objective of this work is to identify and describe the phenomena – other than capillary pressure – controlling development and enlargement of the transition zone in the presence of high flow velocity around the well.
JP Oil Company, Lafayette, LA 01/2003
Researcher, Production Engineer
Field study in abandoned and high water production wells located in Wyoming, California and Louisiana. Analyzed the potential of reperforation wells by investigating the wellbore structure, well completion and logs. Screened the wells based on StimGun features and well qualities.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Shanghai, China 01/1998 – 12/2001
Reservoir Engineer
Participated in Overall Development Plan of the first oil & gas field in China East Sea. Worked with multi-disciples teams to characterize and build reservoir model from reservoir characterization, fluids and rock properties. Successfully forecasted the water production and pressure depletion in Pinghu oil & gas field, which is a stratified oil and condensate gas combined reservoir. Associated responsibilities included well test data quality control and interpretation, justification and analysis of core and logging data. Supported real-time drilling by evaluation of temperature, pressure and samples from RFT test. Coordinated all data acquisition for reserve evaluation, including seismic interpretation, fluids PVT analysis, wireline logging, and coring.
Project leader for well testing analysis on exploration wells LS 36-1-1, 36-1-2 in contract block 36/02 with PrimeLine Oil Company and production wells A1, A2 and A5 in Pinghu oil & gas field (China East Sea), including in-site supervision of acquisition data and data analysis, and coordinated with geologists to justify or revise the seismic interpretation of this field.
China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Shanghai, China 7/1993 – 12/1997
Assistant Petroleum Engineer
Worked with geologists to resolve challenging problems. Responsibilities included fluids PVT and core analysis, well testing and well log interpretation to assist research team for building reservoir model.
