Engaged in the sourcing and purchasing of a profitable mining operation to form the core business of a Black Economic Empowerment company. The successful completion of negotiations will lead to my appointment as CEO of this newly formed junior mining company.

Bulgarian Experience

STS Holding Group Ltd

Appointed on 1st May 2002 on a one year fixed Contract to introduce Western European practices to STS Holding Group. The Company employed 600 people with a turnover of $15m. The business comprised of Laminate tube, Toothpaste and Hair Dye production and sales.

The following achievements were established during my contract term:

* ƒ¡ƒnBusiness analysis and the formulation of a business Strategy for the Shareholders.
* ƒ¢ƒnSeparated the business from the remainder of the holding to create efficiency.
* ƒ£ƒnIntroduced a new product development team to reenergize and replace the aging product range.

(2000-2002) General Manager/Executive Director
Navan Chelopech/Bimak

Appointed on 10th December 2000. The mine is an underground Copper/Gold/Silver mine using sub level caving as the mining method. It is a four shaft complex utilizing modern mobile equipment extracting and processing 900,000 tonnes of ore, originally employing 720 people.

The following achievements were established during my leadership:

* Established a new Professional Management Team mainly from expatriates and developed a new strategy for the mine based on optimization and extraction of resources.
* ƒnƒnEstablished good relationships with Bulgarian Ministerial officials.
* ƒnƒnThrough the introduction of new mobile equipment, infrastructure and new working practices the mine production steadily increased from 1800t/day to 2500t/day (+39%).
* ƒnAn NSR block model was developed for the mine, which took into account recoveries, metal prices, penalties and insitu grades to provide an accurate cut off mechanism for mining.
* ƒnƒnNew understanding of the mine mineralogy enabled recoveries in Copper to be increased from 81% to 85% and Gold from 58% to 62%.
* ƒnƒnThe mine increased its Copper tonnage from 8,230 to 8,729 tonnes (+6%) and the Recovered Gold increased from 55,424 to 53,590 ozs.
* ƒnƒnCost control and saving initiatives were introduced and the total cost/tonne treated was reduced from $23.24 to $19.57 (-16%).
* ƒnƒnAn ISO 14001 Environmental Management System was introduced.
* ƒnƒnModern HR practices were introduced which were starting to assist in motivating the workforce in the form of incentive schemes, discipline procedures and communication.
* ƒnProduction volume growth was maintained whilst reducing the workforce by 120 people.

South African Experience

(1999-2000) Mine Manager (Goldfields Ltd)
Libanon Gold Mine

Appointed on 1 January 1999. Under my leadership the mine had the best safety record within the Goldfields Group. Excellent industrial relations with the employees were created despite having reduced the workforce from 6,500 to 3,500. The mine also had the highest productivity rates within the Goldfields Group in the West Wits Area. Libanon has 11 shafts spread over a 26km area.

The following key achievements were established during my leadership:

* Productivity was increased by 32%.
* The implementation of a phased mine closure programme with the cooperation of unions and associations, reduction in the workforce of 3000 without any industrial action.
* R6m/month cost saving implementation reducing cost/tonne from R400 to R230.
* The Change Management philosophy which I implemented at Libanon was being adopted by the whole group.
