Utilities Main Panel Operator
Activities:
* Operates various power utilities equipment to ensure smooth and continuos supply of high pressure steam and high voltage electrical power.
* Operates and/ or ensures the operation of various equipment on the boiler and power generation.
* Carries out safety as per the standard instructions, such as: boiler, gas turbine, generator, transformers, high voltage alternators…etc.

* Monitors plant parameters through DCS and stays vigilant to observe any abnormalities/ malfunction and takes immediate measures to rectify the problem independently to minimize production losses.
* Monitors plant parameters through DCS and network screen displays, diagnoses faults and takes corrective action for all equipment on plant to prevent major shut-down, which can cause major impacts on the production.
* Monitors Fire & Gas System through monitoring and control system and takes immediate corrective action in the event of alarm or malfunction.
* Ensures readiness of all stand by emergency equipment.
* Checks the functioning of rotating machinery and analyses data collected for performance improvement and efficient operations.
* Monitors fuel gas consumption and ensures adequate supply of fuel gas to boiler and turbines.
* Makes appropriate adjustments to various instrument, turbines and alternators such as speed, voltage, frequency…etc, to synchronize indicators and ensures smooth operation.
* Monitors variables and corrects control setting on valve opening to maintain proper functioning of plant and operation standards temperatures, pressures and cooling water flow rates.
* Logs all reading at fixed intervals in a log book.
* Maintains safety of equipment and takes corrective action in case of abnormalities.
* Carries out planned/ routine inspection at intervals on power generation facilities and equipment and ensures maintaining proper house keeping standard in the plants.
* Liaises and assists contracted maintenance personnel when carrying out work in the Power Plant or commissioning the Plant after major overhaul.
* Prepares power generation and utilities equipment for maintenance in accordance with Company's regulations and permit to work system requirements.
* Ensures that all works in the plant are implemented according to the issued permit conditions.
* Ensures that equipment / system are integrated safely into operation after completion of work.
