For PETROBRÁS (Brazilian large Oil and Gas company):

- Development of Windlass Data Acquisition and Trending System for the PETROBRÁS P-X Platform, using Cimplicity SCADA and VersaMax CLPs, with QuickPanel IHMs, on an Ethernet TCP / IP Network.

- Development of a Truck Loading Supervisory Control System integrated to the Plant DCS, billing and e-commerce corporate systems, for REDUC (Refining plant at Rio de Janeiro State), based on GE-Fanuc CIMPLICITY SCADA software, GE-Fanuc 90-30 PLCs, ABB-Bailey DCS Conductor NT Consoles, and Oracle Data Base. The main network connecting the Oracle Server to eight workstations is a dual 100Mbps Ethernet TCP-IP based, with Nortel switches and Router. The connection between the two PLCs is a point-to-point Genius network. The connection between the CLP and the DCS is serial ModBus. For all networks, segments are implemented with optical fiber (single mode or multimode, depending on the distances), and using electro-optical converters RAD, Weed and BlackBox (depending on the network).

- Installation and start-up of an ultrasonic flow measurement KROHNE device. The instrument indication device is an IBM-PC compatible panel-mounted microcomputer, MS-DOS based, with KROHNE proprietary application software, and communicating with the instrument transmitter through a point-to point RS-485 link (offshore, Campos basin).

- Development of a supervisory control system, based on WonderWware In-Touch SCADA software and Allen-Bradley Series 5 PLCs in an Ethernet TCP-IP network, for two Solar turbo-compressors (offshore, Campos basin).

- Integration of a Hart network to an Allen-Bradley Series 5 PLC, applying an Htnode Hart-ModBus converter, and a Prosoft PLC-5 ModBus Interface. The Hart network is multi-point, with four nodes. The ModBus network is point-to point, local, implemented with a RS-232C cable (offshore, Campos basin).

- Ladder development, Installation and start-up of a supervisory control system based on Genius Blocks connected through a GE-Fanuc Genius network, to an existing GE-Fanuc Series 90-70 PLC. The Operator Stations are MS Windows-NT with WonderWare In-Touch SCADA software, connected to the PLC through an Ethernet TCP-IP network. The system is for two flotation vessels (offshore, Campos basin).

- Ladder development, installation and integration to an existing Supervisory Realflex / QNX system, of an Allen Bradley SLC-500 PLC for valve position monitoring. The PLC is connected to two different Workstations, through two independent point-to-point serial satellite based links, using ModBus protocol.

- Design and development of a eight pipelines supervisory control and flow measurement system based on Realflex SCADA Software QNX Operator Stations, and eight GE-Fanuc 90-30 PLCs. The system is a geographically distributed one, with six PLCs connected in a multi-point GE-Fanuc Genius local network, in one end of the pipelines, and the Operator Stations in remote Control Rooms, at the other end, and also in a Centralized Control Room. The local PLCs network is interfaced to the supervisory Operator Stations, through serial ModBus point-to-point links, each link connecting one gateway in the local Genius network to a serial interface switching device, connected to a pair of prime-reserve Operator Stations. The link is implemented via radio. There are four links, to four different remote Control Rooms. Each pair of prime-reserve Operator Stations is linked by a point-to point Arcnet network.

- Design, implementation and start-up of ladders for 3 Allen-Bradley redundant configuration PLCs, and of the SCADA realtime database and operator displays based on Intellution FIX-DMACS SCADA software, for the pumping stations of REPLAN (PETROBRÁS largest refining plant). The network is a redundant Allen-Bradley DH+, connecting the three PLCs to three Operator Stations.

- Specification of a Control System for a large Lube Oil plant, based on a Fischer and Porter DCS, integrated to Production Scheduling, Statistical Process Control, and Blending Optimization programs.

- Specification and design of a control system for a petroleum products truck loading terminal, integrated to the corporate billing system.

- Feasibility evaluation of the instrumentation and automation system for a phosphate rock processing plant.

For Brazilian Navy:

- Specification, design and development of RAN-20X and RTN-30X Radar Systems, based on X-Windows / OSF-Motif GUI, under Unix (Sun Solaris and Linux) and Unix-like (VxWorks) environments.

For Rio de Janeiro Subway:

- Specification, design, implementation and start–up of Supervisory control systems for train dispatching, based on Wonderware SCADA In–Touch and Eagle Signal PLCs, connected through a optical fiber based network, with electro-optical modems from RAD, and implementing a multipoint ModBus network.

For railway companies:

- Technical coordination of the software team for the development of a Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) with two consoles connected to 30 RTUs, for data acquisition and supervisory control of about 3.000 digital points, based on the AccessWare AccessPoint SCADA software. The multipoint serial link used the L&N CONITEL protocol.

For Itaipu Binacional (world's largest hydro generating plant):

- Coordination, at the top management level, of the development team in charge of the Operation Scheduling subsystem of the Plant SCADA System, including the software quality assurance activities.

Miscellaneous:

- Comprehensive control systems evaluation for a large brewing company (Antarctica), for IBM Brasil, including evaluation of alternate approaches for FieldBus type protocols.

- Specification of Warehouse and Ship Loading Supervisory Control System for CODESP, with 6 operator stations and 22 PLCs, with existing RTUs.

- Specification and development planning of a Water Treatment and Distribution Supervisory Control System, based on Data General Eclipse computer.

- Specification and development planning of a Telecommunications Network Supervisory Control System for COPEL (Paraná State Power Utility), using Reliance PLCs as RTUs.

- Integration planning and methodology requirements analysis for a Supervisory Control System to be developed for a Satellite launching Control facility, based on the MIL-STD-940, DOD-STD-2167 A, DOD-STD-2168 and MIL-STD-1521 B standards.

- Sizing and Integration planning of a Supervisory Control for the TELEPAR (Paraná State Telecom Utility) Telecommunications Network, using Reliance PLCs as RTUs.
Hidrologia S.A. (Instrumentation Manufacturer – November, 1984 to January to December, 1985) – organization and management of the product (hardware, software and product engineering) and systems development team for:
- Servo controlled level measurement device, based on NSC 800 chip.
- Microprocessor based RTUs (on the same chip).
- Hydro-meteorological (rain and river water level) data acquisition systems, implemented with 8-bit microcomputers with CP/M operating system connected to the RTUS through switched telephonic lines, using proprietary protocol.
- DCS general purpose product specification and project.
MDK Engenharia (Engineering Consulting Company – October, 1981 to October, 1984) - coordination of the real time software support and development team for:
ELETROSUL (Power Utility company for the Brazil South Region):
- Specification, proposal evaluation, work statement and support to implementation of a large Power Generation and Transmission Dispatch Center, based on four GOULD CONCEPT 32 computers connected to 70 RTUs, using L&N Conitel protocol.

- Specification and development of a Telecommunication Equipment Supervisory Control System based on the FERRANTI Argus 700 computer, connected to AEG-Telefunken RTUs, with proprietary protocol.

- Specification and development of a Pilot Plant Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System based on the FERRANTI Argus 700 computer.
