Last Position was as the Safety Manager/Quality Assurance Manager.
While in this position I was instrumental in acquiring the ISO 9002 registration for one company as well as wrote and implemented the program for three additional companies. Put into place a safety and training program which included writing an Environmental Safety and Health Training Manual as well as a Safety Manual. These programs where developed along the lines of the ISO 14001 guidelines for future registration.

As the Safety Director it was my responsibility to coordinate and perform training of laboratory and field personnel in a manner which precluded no reduction of productivity at a minimal of expense. Perform Safety Audits of the facility and report to management, maintain all safety and training files on personnel as well as maintain all records of hazardous waste activities.

Maintain and report all required documentation for OSHA to include annual OSHA 300 Logs and complete all questionnaire's for client requested information pertaining to Master Service Agreements and Contracts. Review same for compliance issues. Develop and initiate safety and environmental impact assessments and performance reviews to remain in compliance with MSA and Contracts. Provide Hazards Assessments of all operations and mitigation events to provide for a safe working environment.

It was also my responsibility to monitor the Drug Screening Program to ensure all pre-access and random screening was performed and to initiate and report findings of all accident investigations.

The last three years there were no reportable OSHA incidents within the corporation.

As the Quality Assurance Manager, it was my responsibility to monitor and record all data necessary to remain in compliance with the ISO 9002 program to include tracking and reporting all non-conformance reports, corrective actions and out of compliance conditions. Maintain a master list of all calibration, Maintain all measurement and test equipment used for calibrations, Establish calibration schedules and notify departments of pending out of calibration conditions, training of quality control personnel performing quality control functions as well as calibrate equipment when needed. Perform Quality Audits and report results to interdepartmental managers and corporate management, establish quality audit schedules. Perform all scheduled reviews of the Quality Management System and Report findings to Corporate Management.

As the Quality Assurance Manager I wrote and implemented a Quality Assurance Plan for the corporation that eventually helped us to obtain ISO 9002 registration. This program included all aspects of Quality Control from Hold and Testing Points to Process Control and Final Reporting, Calibration of Equipment and Maintaining Test and Measurement Equipment as well as maintaining required files and documentation.

Previous Job duties within the corporation included laboratory manager chromatography lab. This is where I began with the corporation while in this position I was able to re-equip the lab and increase productivity four fold. I trained all chromatography personnel in proper laboratory procedures, provided the knowledge necessary for proper application of chromatographic plumbing for various applications and performed troubleshooting and maintenance of chromatographic equipment. I initiated, designed, and implemented an ASTM physical properties lab as well as a basic water lab and trained personnel to operate this equipment and perform analysis with little supervision. Maintained all records and files for Quality issues and conducted all audits for Quality and Safety both in-house as well as customer required. I also initiated, designed, built and implemented a portable laboratory service. This service is now serving the industry throughout the world with locations in Russia, Angola, and Trinidad. This service includes the sampling and analysis of oil and gas samples as well as reservoir fluid sampling using downhole sampling tools. At this time the company grew from 12 employee's to 80. A joint decision was made between myself and the owner for me to turn my daily lab duties over to other personnel to give me more time to dedicate to Quality and Safety and Training Issues. This was not a demotion but a lateral transfer to relieve me of to great of a work load. A manager was hired to take over my lab duties and an in-house promotion of personnel was conducted to place a manager over the portable laboratory service.

I maintained and operated a portable laboratory which I used throughout the southern regions of the United States and Offshore for on-site analytical services. Analysis included air monitoring, sulfur content, & BTU values locations associated with this sampling and analytical work included such varied area's as production platforms, drilling locations, sulfur recovery plants, landfills, fire investigations of building fires, propane and NGL plants. Maintained all required records and provided all data needed for Quality Related Audits. Assisted with Quality Audits by Clients.

My last duty assignment was at Fort Hood Texas where I was in charge of the Base Petroleum Laboratory. My primary military occupational specialty was list as a 92C petroleum laboratory technician with a secondary MOS as a 76Y supply. My duties included all aspects of managing and operating the laboratory to include training of personnel. This laboratory was considered a Quality Control laboratory that analyzed samples of all fuels, hydraulic oils and lubricants purchased from private refineries for use at the installation. The analysis performed ensured compliance with purchase specifications. While in this position I implemented a training program that was still in use as late as 1995. This program included a system of test and evaluation of technicians on a weekly basis. Army wide testing of all personnel in this field conducted in 1980, the last year I in this position revealed the technicians under my direct supervision scored highest of all with scores exceeding the 93 percentile three of which were the three highest army wide scores. The average army wide scores were in the 80 percentile range. 9 years military experience, 8 active army with 1 year reserve duty, with courses in leadership, training, supply, first aid, Air assault and marksmanship.

While with this company I filled various positions for the completion of building projects from preparing the land as a heavy equipment operator using such equipment as tractors, backhoe's, bulldozers and dump trucks, preparing and pouring the concrete foundations, framing, roofing, finishing the interior, electrical helper plumbing helper and painter. I also worked as a paint crew foreman as well as a landscape foreman.
