Total is the biggest oil & gas French company.
Balhaf LNG plant, the biggest oil & gas project in Yemen to date, will comprise two processing trains of 3.45 Million Ton per annum
(Mtpa) each, thus a design production capacity of 6.9 Mtpa, with the finished product to be shipped out by sea in 135,000 to 205,000 m3 capacity LNG carriers. The Main Line consists of an approximately 325-kilometer long, 38-inch diameter natural gas pipeline. The initial design flow capacity is 1,280 MMSCFD.
Site Environmental Engineer
As client environmental representative for the entire site, responsible for:
* Ensuring marine and construction environmental related project requirements and specifications are adhered to during the construction phase of the LNG plant;
* Monitoring contractors' environmental related activities and acting as a focal point for coordination of environmental activities during the site preparation and construction phase;
* Monitoring EPC contractors' environmental related activities during the construction of the plant and coordinating the archeological and marine related activities;
* Ensuring full environmental protection is considered during the construction phase of the project;
* Ensuring that all environmental commitments of the contractors are respected and implemented;
* Reviews and comments on contractors' environmental related documents for the construction phase such as Environmental Management Plan, Waste Management Plan etc.;
* Participating and contributing, where necessary, in environmental reviews and meetings; Participating to weekly Operations Safety Meetings;
* Monitoring close out of all environmental related actions from various Environmental Reviews and Reports; Monitoring by review and audit EPC Contractors Quality Programs;
* Providing support concerning environmental issues to the Project Team;
* Analysis of non-conformance / corrective action and recommending to management opportunities for improvement; Validating weekly / monthly reports on trend indicators and statistics;
* Coaching Yemeni colleagues and technicians;
* Reviews, approvals and subsequent monitoring of EPC Contractors Work Programs;
* Liaising with local and governmental authorities, international consulting teams involved in the project.

Starting October 2002, in addition to safety responsibilities, assigned to develop the new Environmental Officer position (Waste Management Officer) as a need to be in compliance with the requirements of JRM Corporate Guidelines and with the local environmental legal requirements and to prepare the facility for the intended ISO 14001 certification:
* Member of facility environment & waste management internal audit teams;
* Supervising waste disposal activities and ensuring advisory support for the waste producers (departments) within the yard;
* Issuing Waste Transfer Forms for all waste leaving the yard and maintaining Central Waste Disposal Register, Central Chemical Inventory & Risk Assessment File / MSDS Register and the Registry of Legal Environmental Requirements of HSE Department;
* Reviewing and implementation of Waste Management Plan and Spill Preparedness & Response Plan; set-up and co-ordination of Waste Minimization Program and Recycling Action Plan, according to environmental policies of the Company;
* Elaborating monthly Environment Resources & Waste Monitoring Report; follow-ups & routine checks according to Monthly Environmental Checklist and issuing quarterly report;
* Liaising with all supervisory staff of the yard and whenever necessary with waste management related vendors / buyers / contractors for permanent follow-up & improvement of waste management and recycling activities of the facility;

- Murphy Medusa Field Development Project - fabrication of a truss spar (Medusa Spar Hull); client Murphy Oil Corporation; key participants: J. Ray McDermott Engineering, SparTEC Inc., Mentor Subsea, J.
