The company employs people of more than 140 nationalities working in 100 countries, and consists of three primary business segments: oilfield services, IT consulting, and seismic surveys.

QHSE Manager Singapore 2002 – 2003
Responsibilities:
Providing support to managers and employees in Singapore for the implementation and maintenance of the Schlumberger QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) Management System at all locations. Ensuring both legal and company compliance.

Accomplishments:
* Achieved legal and company environmental compliance for the group of Schlumberger companies based in Singapore.
* Implemented an Emergency Response Plan for managers to deal with the potential of an employee contracting SARS or coming into close contact with a SARS victim. These guidelines were shared with other QHSE Managers in the Asia region. Acceptance ensured that employees were informed of developments relating to SARS and this prevented an overreaction to the situation and allowed business continuity.
* Authored a paper entitled "SARS – Managing the Illness and the Fear" that was accepted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers for inclusion in the program at their bi-annual HSE conference in Calgary, March 2004.
* Introduced the Schlumberger QUEST reporting database system to the Sema (IT) part of the organization to replace a paper based system. Trained personnel using the system to track service quality events and allowed greatly improved response to events and understanding of root causes.

Eastern Hemisphere Land QHSE Manager Dubai 2000 –2002

Visiting remote field operations and completing audits against the Schlumberger QHSE Management System and Environmental Standards.

Accomplishments:
* Integrated two QHSE Management Systems from the existing company (Schlumberger) and the acquired company (Western Geophysical) for the Middle East & Asia. * Arranged training and field visits to ensure that all Country Managers and Operations Supervisors attended the 4-day QHSE for Managers training. This achieved one of the key objectives for the organization.
* Organized and scheduled for 18 land operations to have official Management System Audits and an Environmental Compliance Audit by the end of the year. This was accomplished with an overall 62% level of compliance.
* Reduced the segment automobile accident rate (AAR) by more than 30% in 2002 through investigating and implementing a plan to target deficiencies in the management system. The plan is now being implemented by Schlumberger in the Middle East and Asia for 2004.

Country Manager Oman and Saudi Arabia 1999 –2000

* Demobilised a land seismic crew that had completed a three-year contract comprising 200 people, 30 vehicles and portable skid mounted camp consisting of more than 40 individual ISO container units. This was achieved over a 2-month period without incident and 15% under budget.

Operations Supervisor Libya and Egypt 1998 –1999

Responsibilities:

Accomplishments:
* Coordinated recording of a successful seismic test line employing an air gun as the energy source in an area of Libya where normal data collection methods using Vibroseis or explosives were not possible (subkha). Based on the data it allowed the client to conduct a basic survey at low cost and determine whether more extensive surveying would be viable.
* Worked with the Country Manager to secure future work for operations both in country and in Jordan. This involved scouting trips in various concessions to conduct feasibility studies and complete business plans to assess the viability of business in the locations.

QHSE Supervisor Saudi Arabia 1997 –1998

Responsibilities:
Implementing the newly introduced Schlumberger QHSE Management system to the 5 remote field operations in Saudi Arabia. Monitoring all reported accidents and incidents and ensuring thorough investigations as required by the company to prevent recurrence.

This involved the daily planning and supervising of around 120 crew personnel and 30 light and heavy vehicles working in and around populated areas and major roads over a 6-month period. Liasing with local traffic police was a major part of this effort.
* Mobilised personnel and equipment for 2 new land crews in Saudi Arabia. This required co-ordinating with suppliers both in the USA and Europe as well as local vendors and contractors in the Gulf Region. Both projects involved the mobilisation of around 70 light and heavy vehicles, 2 mobile camps consisting of offices, workshops and accommodation, 60 senior expatriate staff and more than 300 junior expatriate staff from the Philippines, Pakistan and India. Both projects began on time and within the forecast budget.
