PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CHEVRON TEXACO, Permian Business Unit, Midland, TX 2003-2004
Petroleum Engineer
Managed Gas properties in Permian Basin including development of gas field, design/ redesign completion and surface facilities, field evaluation, detailed well/field analysis, preparing remedial program, run economic analysis and execution.
* Evaluated the production problem on Devonian wells in Emperor field. Proposed and executed remedial program to enhance production and increased production from 140 MCFPD to 900 MCFPD of gas per day from one well. 4 more wells to undergo the same remedial operation.
* Analyzed the production problem on different wells and prepared workover and Hydraulic fracturing program, achieving additional 300- 800 MCFPD of gas.
* Designed a "Well data base" to get complete updated information of all the wells in Fort Stockton team. It was very helpful for us to get complete history, production data, workover details, completion, well bore diagram, up-hole potential etc. This database was very helpful as it was used to populate new software purchased by Chevron Texaco.
PETROLEUM RESEARCH & RECOVERY CENTER, Socorro, NM. 2001-2003
Research & Teaching Assistant
Research Assistant in Gas Flooding Processes and Flow Heterogeneities Group. Designed & assembled the apparatus, ran experiments, recorded & analyzed the data, modified and ran simulation.
* Investigated on "Improving CO2 Efficiency for Recovering Oil in Heterogeneous Reservoirs" sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy. Designed and fabricated a slim tube apparatus and conducted experiments to determine "Minimum Miscibility Pressure" of oil reservoir, modeling the CO2 displacement process using MASTER (Miscible Applied Simulation Techniques for Energy Recovery) Simulator. Modified MASTER simulator to simulate the experiment. Successfully simulated the experiment on MASTER Simulator and the results were similar.
* Investigated "The Effect of Hydrostatic Stresses, Flow Rate, Temperature and Pore Pressure on Pressure Gradient" and the non-Darcy effect near well bore in high-pressure gas wells.
* Teaching assistant in Computer Science department. Helped students with their homework assignments
Kuwait Oil Company, Ahmadi, Kuwait. 1994-2000
Drilling Engineer
* Implemented Landmark's drilling software "DIMS" in Kuwait Oil Company. Coordinated with Landmark Graphics engineers, drilling field locations and base offices for loading of software, training of engineers and generating real-time reports.
* Prepared drilling and work-over program using Landmark's latest drilling software "DIMS".
* Worked with Chevron and B.P. Engineers to develop a drilling database for tracking rig operational time, bit replacement and preparing reports for management using Microsoft Access, which resulted in reducing down time.
* Performed technical evaluation and scrutiny of equipment quotations in support of procurement.
* Performed materials management tasks for drilling and work over operations. Reduced inventory by modifying the specifications of the existing equipment and changing reorder level of equipment and spares.
OIL & NATURAL GAS COMMISSION, Tel Bhawan, Dehradun.UP, India
Drilling Engineer
* Faculty at Institute of Drilling Technology, Dehradun, India. Trained Drilling Engineers from different companies on fully computerized drilling well control simulator. Promoted from Assistant Engineer to Senior engineer and got opportunity to work on drilling and work over rigs, material management, well planning, well control operations, fishing operations etc.
* Standardized blow out preventers, accumulator units and well control equipment to be procured by the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC). New standards resulted in reduced inventories and improved operational efficiency for over 150 rigs as well as millions of dollars in annual savings.
PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
* Recognized by Manager drilling operations group for achieving group outstanding performance for year 1998-1999.
* Co-author of the SPE paper # SPE89431 "Laboratory Investigation of Stress-Sensitivity of Non-Darcy Gas Flow Parameters" presented in IOR conference 2004.
