Job Description:
* Provide technical support to proponents in Drilling and Work over Engineering in the area of drilling and completion fluids design and formulation, drilling mud additives and chemicals, and troubleshooting of drilling rig problems related to drilling fluids. Close monitoring of field applications and monitoring optimization the use of solids control equipment. Prepare drilling fluids on the rig site and maintenances the properties of drilling and work over fluids as per client specification. Troubleshooting mud related field problems. Experience with laboratory and field drilling and completion fluids test equipment. Laboratory test procedures for drilling fluid chemicals and additives. Training and development of young drilling fluids engineers. Do inventory of all drilling fluids products. Reviews and analyses the daily drilling fluids/mud report and daily drilling report and give technical advice on drilling/workover fluids to client representative.

* Performs duties to conduct prototype or lab tests following prescribed procedures. May also build prototypes, models, and special equipment and/or perform basic material or environmental tests using basic techniques with electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical equipment that includes set-up, calibration, trouble-shooting, monitoring, and data collection. Operates lab or other equipment such as pumps and rig equipment, as required to execute assigned tasks. Documents test data for reporting purposes.
