Involved in start-up, commissioning and operation of the largest natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant in the Philippines. Knowledgeable in EPRI, British Standards, JIS and VGB Standards in Power Plant Water Chemistry. Could be able to do laboratory testing based on ASTM and AWWA Standards. Can operate sophisticated laboratory instruments (IC, ICP, AAS, GC, TOC, ED-XRF etc.) and has extensive knowledge on wet chemistry techniques and operation of water treatment plants particularly RO (Reverse Osmosis). PRESENT JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate analysis and monitoring of boiler water, feedwater, cooling water, reverse osmosis, and demineralization make-up water chemistry. Daily review of logbooks, logsheets for important parameters, as well as interaction with Chemists, WT Operators, Operations Dept. and Chemical Suppliers.
- Forecasting of water requirements and preparation of water consumption report.
- Investigate operational problems, incidents, accidents, and unusual events. Provide analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans.
- Provide operational recommendations regarding water treatment system operation and boiler and cooling water system operation.
- Provide recommendations for maintenance work, such as analyzer calibration, valve tuning, spare parts and replacements, preventative and predictive maintenance including hydraulic and lubricating systems in the plant.
- Investigate equipment problems, recommend solutions, follow-up until resolved.
- Prepare annual preparation of status report on chemical consumption reduction efforts.
- Involves regular monitoring of plant water chemistry in conjunction with Chemical Suppliers
- Do annual conduct of outage inspections and provides analyses, recommendations, reports and appropriate follow-up plans.
- Provide assistance in RO Normalization Program and Laboratory Data Management
- Investigate alternatives and make recommendations for modifications to O&M procedures or equipment/systems for improvements in plant chemistry performance.
- Assist with plant environmental compliance relative to DENR, WB Guideline and Right-to-Know Regulations.
