2.0 CAREER SUMMARY
A multi-disciplines quality personnel with having more than 15 years of progressive working experience in both onshore & offshore oil & gas and petrochemical construction industries. 3.0 SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
June 2008 – Present – JP Kenny Sdn. Bhd.– seconded to Sabah Shell Petroleum Company SSPC (Owner) as a QA Lead Engineer on Shell Gumusut-Kakap Deepwater Project – Offshore Execution Team (OET) which is comprising of Subsea Hardware, Umbilical, Risers, Flowlines, Oil Export Pipelines (OEP), Mooring and Offshore Installation based at Shell Deepwater Engineering Office, eTiQa Twins, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Assigned as the Deputy QA Lead/Inspection Coordinator and is responsible for monitoring the quality aspects of all procured Subsea Equipments and all subsea installation activities. Main duties include but not limited to;-
- Reviewing of Subcontractor / Supplier key quality procedures relating to the materiel purchased and ensuring they are in compliance with contract quality requirements, relevant Codes/Standards and good site practices.
- Responsible for the recruitment of the inspection resources which includes raising of Request For Services (RFS), preparing Job Descriptions (JD) & Scope of Work (SOW), carrying out interviews & selection and dealing with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) department to conclude the whole recruitment process which includes raising of Purchase Request (PR) & Purchase Order (PO).
- Oversee the production activities within the parameters of the approved project documentation, quality plans and Inspection and Test Plans. These activities include supervision of inspectors within Malaysia and worldwide, responsible for documentation review, material receiving inspection, manufacturing inspection, punch listing, as-built preparation, and final documentation review and equipment release.
- Being the focal point for respective Package Leads to coordinate all necessary inspection activities for their packages with the inspection contractors
- Responsible to manage the inspection budget allocated for each packages and ensuring that each Package Leads are made aware of the budget left in or balance of their ACV (Actual Contract Value) which is generated from CTR (Cost Time Resources) prepared by them earlier.
- Reviewing all inspection contractors Performa Invoices prior submission of the actual Invoices and release of payment. Ensuring that all disputed claims are sorted in accordance with the contract requirements prior allowing the Supply Chain department to release the payment.
- Perform Quality Reviews & Audits of contractors / suppliers facilities, verification of process documentation to ensure compliance to agreed contract documentation.
- Identify areas of concern and report on quality problems as they arise. Assist in determining root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
May 2007 – Present – DeltaAfrik Engineering Limited (Contractor) as a Procurement Inspection Coordinator on MPN Major Integrity Projects (MIPs) – EPCM-1, DeltaAfrik Engineering Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. Owner/Client:- Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN)-Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Responsible to coordinate all DeltaAfrik vendors/contractors inspection, including third party, to ensure consistency and continuity of inspection activities and monitoring of combined inspection man-hours for the MIPs Program.
Providing a considerable amount of involvement during the early stage of MIPs program's Front End Engineering Design (FEED) verification process. Partly involved in Invitation to Tender (ITT) processes and was also part of the tender evaluation team. Reporting directly to the QA/QC Manager and Program Execution Manager based in DeltaAfrik Engineering Limited (Lagos Office), Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
Aug. 2006 – Nov. 2006 – Brunel Energy (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Agency) seconded to Clough Projects International Pty. Ltd. (Contractor) as a QA/QC Engineer on Maari Field Development – Wellhead Platform Project at Kencana HL Fabrication Yard & Transerve Pte Ltd Fabrication Yards, Lumut, Perak, Malaysia. Owner/Client:- OMV New Zealand Ltd.
Assigned as the QA/QC Site Representative to monitor the construction & fabrication of the Temporary Refuge Accommodation Module (TRAM), Electrical & Instrumentation Switch Room (EISR) and Helideck facility for Maari Wellhead Platform. Responsible to lead a team of QA/QC inspectors to oversee daily QA/QC surveillance & inspection activities onsite. Main duties include but not least; to review the contractors' Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), Welding Procedure Qualification Test (WPQT), Welder Qualification Test (WQT), working procedures & method statements eg. Inspection & Test Plan (ITP), Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Blasting & Painting procedures etc and approving the engagement of QA/QC personnel by the contractor & also lower-tier contractors. Reporting directly to the project Quality Manager based in Clough Project International Pty. Ltd. Main Office, Perth, Australia.
Aug. 2006 – Nov. 2006 – Gale Engineering & Management Services Pte. Ltd. (Agency) seconded to Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) Exploration & Production Public Co. Ltd. (Client) as a QA/QC Inspector (Welding, NDT & Coating) on PTTEP Bongkot Field Development Phase 3E Project, Thailand. Assignment including:-
a. Offshore Pipeline laying, pigging & hydrotesting of 10"ø x 7.8km pipeline – sweet service (from WP-17 to WP-6), 10"ø x 3.9km pipeline –sour service (WP-15 to WP-16) & 14"ø x 10.6km pipeline – sour service with 2"ø piggy back pipeline(WP-16 to SPP).
b. Installation of Jacket Legs & Wellhead Platforms for WP-15, WP-16 & WP-17.
c. Installation of Riser (sweet service) & Riser Guard for WP-6 (Existing Platform).
All these activities were carried out on board Nippon Steel Engineering Corporation's Derrick Lay Barge (DLB) Kuroshio I & Kuroshio II, Offshore Gulf of Thailand. Reporting directly to the Company Site Representative (CSR).
June 2006 – July 2006 – Bintulu Engineering & Trading Sdn. Bhd. (Shutdown Contractor) as a QA/QC Engineer on PETRONAS Asian Bintulu Fertilizer (ABF) 11th Turnaround, GIA Mechanical Scope Project, Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. Assigned to set-up, align & maintain a proper quality control system during the turnaround/shutdown period. Responsible for the implementation of project quality plan and site quality assurance & quality control. Scopes of work beside the routine inspection includes preparation of job execution procedures, qualification of welding procedures, qualification of welders, coordinating & performing NDT (RT, UT, DPI & MPI) Inspection and liaising with the Client representatives on all quality and inspection related issues. Reporting directly to the Managing Director/Project Manager.
Oct. 2003 – Mar. 2006 – Advantage Energy Nigeria Ltd. (Agency) seconded to ExxonMobil Development Company (Client) as a Site Quality Inspector (Welding & General Inspector) on Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) Onshore Fabrication and Offshore Installation in Nigeria. Projects & assignments attached to were:-
1. East Area Project (EAP) EPC1A
a. GN Compressor Production Platform Hook-up & Commissioning (HUC) Campaign, Offshore of Nigeria. Assigned as Lead Welding Inspector on-board. Reporting directly to the Site Quality Lead (SQL) and also to the Site Lead (SL) especially during the absent of the SQL. And during that period too, I would normally be taking charge of the whole Quality team. But my routine primary responsibility is to lead a team local of Nigerian inspectors, which comprise of Welding, Coating, Mechanical and E&I inspectors during this HUC phase.
b. GR3 Header Frame & Piping fabrication at Grinaker-LTA Nigeria Limited Fabrication Yard & Neptune-Maritime Limited Fabrication Yard in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Assigned as Lead QA/QC Inspector to monitor all welding, painting, testing & load-out activities over on-site and also ensure that all activities are executed safely. Reporting directly to the Project Site Quality Lead (SQL) and also to the Site Lead (SL) when required.
c. GO Living Quarters Platform Hook-up & Commissioning (HUC) Campaign onboard Jascon-1, Offshore of Nigeria Assigned as Welding Inspector on-board & the scope of work beside routine welding inspection include remedial painting work, clearing & also generating of punchlist items. Reporting directly to the Site Lead as there was no SQL role in this campaign.
2. East Area Project (EAP) EPC2 - Pipe Coating Project at Socotherm Africa Ltd Coating Plant, Onne Port, Nigeria. Assigned as Lead Inspector to monitor pipe coating activities which include FBE, PP & Concrete coating application, anode installation, test panel qualification, cathodic disbondment test and also pipe loadout activity. Report directly to the Site Manager (who was also the in-Country Manager) based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and also to the Sub Project Quality Advisor based in the contractor's design office in Paris, France.
3. NNPC/MPN YOHO Development Project EPC2
a. Yoho-YQ Living Quarters Hook-up & Commissioning onboard Gustave Perreau, Offshore of Nigeria Providing a 3 weeks coverage for the project Site Quality Lead as he went off on vacation. Report directly to Sub Project Quality Advisor based in the contractor's design office in Paris, France.
b. Yoho-ZBA, YB, YQ, YZ & YP Offshore Pipelaying & Jackets installation onboard DLV Castoro Otto. Assigned to monitor all Welding, NDT & Coating activities. Reporting directly to the Site Quality Lead (SQL) onboard.
c. Yoho YQ & YZ onshore jackets fabrication and Yoho-BA, BQ, BZ & BF bridges fabrication at Saipem Contracting Nigeria Ltd (SCNL) Yard, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Assigned as Fabrication Inspector & the scopes of work include material, welding, NDT & painting inspection. Reporting directly to the Site Quality Lead (SQL).
4. EEPNL ERHA FPSO Project EPC1
a. Modules "H", "S", "S1", "R" & "W" fabrication at SCNL Yard, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Assigned as Fabrication Inspector & the scopes of work include material, welding, NDT & painting inspection. Reporting directly to the Site Quality Lead (SQL).
Sept. 2003 – Oct. 2003 - Ikatan Innovasi Sdn. Bhd. (Main Contractor) as a Site QA/QC Manager on MLNG (Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas) Rejuvenation & MLNG/MLNG Dua Revamp (MRR) Project, Module 2/3 Boilers & Utility Area Works, Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. Head the site quality team & responsible for the implementation of project quality plan and site quality assurance & quality control. Scopes of work includes preparation of Job execution procedures, qualification of welding procedures, qualification of welders & liaising with the Client representatives on all quality related issues. Reporting directly to the Cooperate QA Manager and also the Managing Director.
May 2001 – August 2003 - JGC (M) Sdn. Bhd – Kellogg (M) Sdn. Bhd. Joint Venture a.k.a. JMSB-KMSB JV (Main Contractor) as a Preventive Maintenance Inspector (Static & Rotating Equipment Preservation) cum Quality Assurance Engineer on Malaysia Liquefied Natural Gas (MLNG) TIGA Plant Project, Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. Responsible for the preventive maintenance & preservation of all mechanical equipment (static & rotating) for the whole project which include motor operated pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, airfin coolers, pressure vessels & furnaces. Beside that was also assigned to assist the Commissioning Team on their daily QA related activities which includes work procedure compilation & performing internal & external ISO9000 QMS audits on the Joint Venture's & contractors organization. Reporting directly to the Joint Venture's Project QA/QC Manager.
Nov. 1999 – May 2001 - M+W Zander (M) Sdn Bhd. (Main Contractor) as a Mechanical Supervisor (Piping, Rotating & Static Equipment) on 1st Silicon Wafer Fabrication Plant Project, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Assigned to supervise the installation of the Mechanical System & Equipment (HVAC, Process Water, Domestic Water and Fire Protection System) throughout the construction of 1st Silicon Main Administration Building & Centralized Utility Building -Annex, Was also assigned to supervise the Wafer Fabrication Plant equipment hook-up work that comprise of Process Vacuum, Process Cooling Water, Drain, General & Acid Exhaust System. Reporting directly to the Engineering Lead and Construction Manager.
Feb. 1999 – Nov. 1999 - Sumatec Corporation Sdn Bhd. as a Quality Control Engineer / Inspector (Mechanical Rotating & Static) for Mechanical Equipment Installation Work on BASF Petronas Chemicals Acrylics Complex Project, Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur, Malaysia. Responsible for the site quality control and inspection during the installation of Mechanical Equipment which include Motor Operated Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Heat Exchangers, Air-Fin Coolers, Pressure Vessels & also all associated Piping System. Reporting directly to the Project Manager.
July 1998 – Feb. 1999 - Sumatec Corporation Sdn Bhd. (Main Contractor) as Project Supervisor (GRE Piping) on PSR – 1 Sewer & Effluent Treatment System Modification Work, for Petronas Second Refinery Malacca, Malaysia. Assigned to supervise installation of the Glass-fibre Reinforce Epoxy (GRE) piping & was also responsible for the progress and quality control during the process of installation. Reporting directly to the Project Manager.
Dec.1997 – Jul. 1998 - Sumatec Corporation Sdn Bhd. (Main Contractor) as a Project Supervisor on Petronas Sabah Onshore Gas Terminal (OGT) Project, Kg. Gayang, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. Joining the team at the conclusion stage of project & I was assigned to assist in the preparation of As-built drawings & also compilation of the project final documentation dossier for handover. Due to my QA/QC inspection knowledge, I was also assigned as the QC inspector for hydro testing of the 10 km gas pipeline and the Metering Station & Skid from Sabah OGT to Powertron Independent Power Plant, Melewa, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah & later seconded to Translift (M) Sdn. Bhd. as a QA/QC Inspector to assist on the Mechanical & Piping Installation Package at Powertron Independent Power Plant Project, Melewa, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Reporting directly to the Project Manager.
Jan. 1997 – Nov. 1997 - Heti (M) Sdn. Bhd. (currently known as Amerstrand Engineering Sdn. Bhd. - supplier and approved installer of Ameron GRE Piping Product in Malaysia) as Project Coordinator cum GRE Inspector for Glass-fibre Reinforce Epoxy (GRE) Piping Installation on Petronas Sabah OGT Project, Tuaran, Sabah, Malaysia. Reporting directly to the Project Manager and also the Technical Director.
Sept. 1995 – Dec. 1996 - Saga Dialog Sdn. Bhd. (Main Contractor) as Mechanical Supervisor cum QA/QC Inspector on Lawit Onshore Slugcatcher Project, ESSO Slugcatcher, Kerteh, Terengganu, Malaysia. Assigned to supervise the installation of Reinforced Thermo-setting Resin (RTR) @ GRE pipes for 1.6 km of underground pipeline from Lawit Onshore Slugcatcher to Terengganu Crude Oil Terminal (TCOT) and also the Steel Structure work for the whole project. Apart from that, I was also assigned as the Painting/Coating Inspector for the whole project covering both painting & under pipe wrapping activities. Reporting directly to the Project Manager.
