WORK EXPERIENCE
Asset Team Leader. PETROZUATA (ConocoPhillips-PDVSA) (Jun 1999 – Nov 2007).
- Reservoir Engineer Leader of the Central-South Area Asset Team (Integrated Team) of the Extra Heavy Oil field located in Orinoco Heavy Oil Belt, eastern Venezuela (120,000 bopd, 9°API Oil). Extensive experience in designing, drilling, completing, producing, and evaluating production performance of single and multilateral horizontal wells (over 320 Horizontal/Multilateral wells drilled and completed in this field), working closely with geologist, geophysicists; and production, workover, and drilling engineers. Also extensive experience in Field Development working in operational development plans, and also working in the team in charge of updating the annual Long Range Plan of the field. Other responsibilities and jobs has been as following: Reservoir characterization; data acquisition planning and analysis; production surveillance; Simulation modeling using ECLIPSE and also a ConocoPhillips Simulator named PSIM- Sensor; Oil and gas forecasts on well by well basis using Advanced Decline Curve Analysis and Simulation-History Match; Very good background in artificial lift methods such as PCP & ESP; Leader and Reservoir engineer of a Reservoir Characterization Team in charge of Thin Sand Development study including economical feasibility; Working in a team to study other methods of exploitation different than cold production to apply in Petrozuata Field, such as SAGD, steam, and CHOPS. Business used to be mostly conducted in English language.

( May 1995 @ Feb 1999).
- Feb 1997– Feb 1999: Integrated Team Leader of "Leona" Field. Responsible for leading an Integrated Team of Geologists, Geophysicists, Reservoir, Production, and Workover Engineers. Field planning, development & operational management of seven mature fields (12 - 27 °API crude) of the Leona Unit, located in Eastern Venezuela. Reservoir characterization and Production Surveillance. Oil and gas forecast, engineering support for new Vertical and Horizontal well designs & production evaluation. Performed workover feasibility studies of active and inactive wells. (10,000 bopd).
- Dec 1997 – Feb 1998: Leader and Reservoir Simulation Engineer of an Integrated Team in charge of updating a Leona Este field study (Oritupano-Leona Unit), which originally was performed in 1996 in Schlumberger-GeoQuest in Denver, Colorado-USA. Simulator Eclipse 100 was used and a new production and pressure history match of the entire field was needed. An internal summary report was written.

- Jan 1996 – Jan 1997: Reservoir Engineer assigned to a special project in Denver,Colorado-USA, in Schlumberger-GeoQuest offices, working in a multidisciplinary team in charge of conducting an integrated Geological-Geophysical-Reservoir Engineering Study of three (3) oil field from Oritupano Leona Unit from Easter Venezuela basin with a total of 450 million STB of Oil Original in Place. Duties related to fluid and rock characterization, construction and calibration of the numerical simulation model, production and pressure history validation and history match, and reserves evaluation and definition of development strategies. A technical report was written.
- May 1995 – Jan 1996: Reservoir Engineer responsible for programming and tracking the reactivation of eight (8) oil fields in Oritupano Leona Unit (12 – 27 °API crude) in eastern Venezuela. In charge of detecting lack of information, data acquisition program, and data validation. Workover and Pulling feasibility studies of old and inactive wells. Duties related to development well selection, evaluation of well with production problems, and remedial action proposals (workover/stimulation). Programming, supervising, and making interpretation of the following: pressure well test, RFT/MDT, perforations selection, production logging, BHP-BHT, PVT and core analysis.
Lagoven, S.A. (PDVSA Affiliate). Maturín and Maracaibo-Venezuela (May 1989 – May 1995)
- Ago 1993– May 1995. Reservoir Engineer working in a multidisciplinary team (geologist, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers) in charge of conducting an Integrated Study of Gas Condensate field (named "Boqueron") from eastern Venezuela. A simulation model was built using Eclipse software (ECLIPSE 300) from GeoQuest/Schlumberger.
- Jul 1991– Ago 1993. Reservoir Engineer working in "Boqueron" gas condensate Field, in eastern Venezuela. Reservoir management, reservoir surveillance and data validation, production monitoring, production problem wells evaluation, and remedial action proposal (workover/stimulation). Definition of development plan, as well as future drilling and workover programs. Programming, supervising, and making interpretation of the following: pressure well test, RFT/MDT, perforations selection, production logging, BHP-BHT, PVT and core analysis.
- May 1989– Jul 1991. PDVSA´s Reservoir Engineering School in Maracaibo-Venezuela. Participant of a training program of two years (4280 school hours) attending specialized courses related to Reservoir Engineering, Reservoir Management, Formation Evaluation, Reservoir Geology, and Reservoir Simulation. Training reinforced by six week work assignments in Geology, Drilling, Workover, Production, and Reservoir Engineering Departments. An Integrated Geology-Reservoir Engineering-Simulation Study of a Eocene clastic reservoir in Lake Maracaibo was performed as part of that training program. An internal study report was written.
