2000 – Present Graduate Student & Research Assistant, Petroleum Engineering, Texas A&M University, Texas, U.S.
Undertaking post-graduate studies and research in petroleum engineering with particular interest in reservoir simulation, EOR and petrophysics.
Presently working on a U.S Department of Energy Sponsored field studies, reservoir simulation and fracture modelling of the Spraberry reservoir (naturally fractured reservoir, OIIP = 10bbbls) with the objective of developing an optimal and cost effective water injection pattern and injection rates required to effectively produce the reservoir.
Presented results of preliminary findings to government representatives and faculty members in December 2001.

2000      Staff Engineer, Sedco Forex Schlumberger (now TSF), Pointe Noite , Congo.
This position reported to the Sedco Forex Country Manager, Pointe-Noire, Congo and was responsible for providing Technical/Engineering support in Congo. As a part of a multi-corporation integrated project management team in Congo, this engineer formulated, presented and implemented technical and well related programs on behalf of his employers. Specifically these includes interpreting well logs and drawing inferences for future well planning, engineering modifications of drilling equipment (rig spacing etc) to suit client’s (TOTALFINAELF) requirements and collaboration with other members of the project team regarding drilling time optimization.
He also acted for the rig manager in the manager’s absence with particular responsibility for good client relationship and implementation of company safety and environmental policies. Managed about 120 offshore personnel during this time and maintained operations’ budget below forecasted level without compromise to quality of deliverables and health/safety of employees.

Occupied a number of positions and reported to various functions during this period of very high mobility.
Was responsible for on-site (and later off-site) drilling planning and coordination, after graduating from the Schlumberger in-house intensive drilling school. The planning was specifically geared towards reaching the target without a LTI, on time and within budget by pooling on collective knowledge of the integrated projected team in the areas of bits, BHA and fluid selection, selection & simulation of drilling parameters (using pro-pacs) and anticipation of possible problems and forward planning of solutions to such problems. Clients during this period included SHELL EXPRO, CHEVRON and AGIP.
In addition to drilling engineering, was exposed to the rudiments of reservoir engineering.
Coordinated (on location in Angola) the highly successful $25m life extension project planning of the S708 and was a part of the shipyard project management team for a rig each in The Netherlands (the Vinlander) and Congo (Searex 10). Responsibilities during these projects included coordinating 3rd party contracting companies, verifying the technical qualities with applicable contracts/specs, cost control and personnel management.

1994 – 1996 Flowline Inspector / Project Coordinator, Shell Petroleum Development Co. Port-Harcourt, Nigeria
Contracted as a flowline inspector and later promoted as project co-ordinator of the 750km egbema swamp, reporting to the head of department, pipeline logistics. Conducted on-site inspection of flowlines measuring wall thickness and determining wall thickness reduction rates for future integrity projections. Mapped out and did statistical analysis of the field data as an input for the departmental head in his planning. Co-ordinated the enhanced and intelligent pigging operations in the greater Port-Harcourt oil-field with minimal disruption to pipeline activities and no environmental incident. Promoted to be in charge of the construction of the Kolo creek flowline construction.
