Duties: As a part-time lecturer, I assist in teaching rock mechanics courses. My subject of specialization is numerical modelling in rock mechanics. I also perform consultancy duties on behalf of the Division of Mining and Geotechnical Engineering from time to time. Companies I consulted for include; Possiva from Finland (Jan. 2007 – April 2007) and RockTech Center AB (Oct. 2005 – January 2008).
Dec. 2004 – April 2005:
Consultant to SwedPower AB, Luleå, SWEDEN.
Duties: Develop three dimensional rock mechanics models for the Stockholm City Tunneling Project.
Jan. 2000 – Jun. 2002:
Lecturer in Mining Engineering.

Duties: To teach undergraduate mining engineering courses. Subjects I specialized in include; Mine Design, Surface Mining, Geotechnical Engineering, Drilling and Blasting Technology, Mineral Economics, Mining and Economic Geology, Mine Management and Operations Research, and Computer Applications in Mining. Besides teaching I supervised final year student projects and thesis.

Duties: Geomechanical modeling and simulation of Underground Potash Mines of Carlsbad Potash District, New Mexico, USA. This work was also formed part of my M.Sc. Thesis. The research was funded by Westinghouse Electric Corporation on behalf of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

Duties: Final pit wall design, geotechnical core logging, pit face mapping and domaining, geotechnical monitoring including daily waste dump inspection, feasibility study for mine water drainage options, site investigations in and out of mining lease, geotechnical data processing and manipulation for design, short term and long term mine planning. During this term I have logged more than 20 km of drill holes for geotechnical investigations along with core orientation.

Moura No.2 Underground Mine, Moura, Queensland, AUSTRALIA.
Duties: Pillar design and evaluating methods of development and extraction, designing panels and mine layout, methane gas drainage and monitoring, and working on mine production and statistics. During this term I successfully completed a six (6) year life panel design and layout for Moura No. 2 Underground Mine.
