Project Engineer
Expansion Projects for Lanxess, Inc. Sarnia, Ontario Canada: Coordinating a series of projects related to their current expansion and also to annual shutdowns. Work includes an ethylene compressor capacity upgrade, addition of a cooling tower cell; pump replacement, heat exchangers, vessels, etc. Responsibilities include chairing meetings, involving all stakeholders including operations, plant engineering, process designers, PCS and safety personnel. In addition, work requires the inputting of purchase requisitions utilizing the SAP procurement program, coordinating schedules and deliveries with various vendors both in Canada and the United States.
Base load Projects for Imperial Oil, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada: Overseeing a number of multi-discipline projects from piping modifications, pump replacements to installation of a pollution control system and furnace revamps. Involved on an average of approximately 10-15 projects at any time at various stages of execution. Responsibilities include monitoring schedule, budget and scope, and ensuring that projects are completed to the client's satisfaction with respect to drawing deliverables, cost and performance.

- Coordinated the compilation and submission of technical specifications and prchase requisitions for industrial boiler equipment.
- Oversaw the completion of engineering drawings and contract deliverables.
- Negotiated a customer field claim resulting in a reduction of 75% of the original claim value. Work included issuing a formal response to each of 30 items, and tense negotiations directly with the client.
- Combined Cycle, Gas-Fired Cogeneration Plant for Pinnacle West Energy Corp, Phoenix, Arizona, USA: Site Project Engineer, assisted client with drawings, equipment shipments, vendor problems and delays, non-conformance reports, extras and back-charges. Successfully brought the project on schedule, minimizing customer delays and penalties.
- New Gas/Oil-Fired Steam Boiler for the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada: Oversaw the specification and procurement of auxiliary equipment, resulting in savings of up to 50% of budget.

- Unit 8 Outage – Pickering Nuclear Generating Station for Ontario Power Generation, Pickering, Ontario, Canada (1997): Site Project Manager, oversaw the submission of progress charts and schedules, monitored scope of work and contract administration. Processed extra work orders and authorized all on-site contractual items, including time sheets, cost and expense reports. Managed a site administration team, which included a scheduler/planner and office manager. Successfully administered major contracts, including turbine/generator life extension work, which included the processing of scope changes, contract interpretation and conflict resolution. Justified, negotiated and received approval for extra work claims valued at over $700,000.
