RESPONSIBILITIES HANDLED IN SITE SUPERVISION:
1. Review and comment or approve the 90 day schedule and the bi-weekly schedule for the discipline and area of his responsibility making sure that the requirements of the project schedule are met.
2 In conjunction with Planning and Engineering Departments, review and comment on Subcontractors contractual plan.
3 Monitor Subcontractors labour level, review the trade composition against his progress and identify any trade/activity bottleneck/shortcomings.
4 Review weekly progress against contractual plan and comment on any measures suggested by Subcontractor to improve progress.
5 Review the progress data and change requests from Subcontractors and submit them to the Control Group for processing.
6 Monitor and advise the Subcontractor(s) on the control of his labour, construction equipment, and materials to ensure meeting the schedule.
7 Co-operate with and advice Subcontractor(s) to correct work plans in case of engineering drawing or material availability problems or change work required.
8 Shall have a thorough understanding of the Project Specification, CFW Project
Procedures, and Subcontractor Procedures, Plans, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans and other HSE and QA/QC documents relating to his area of responsibility.
9. Prepare daily and weekly Construction Report, as applicable.
10. Inform to Manager/Superintendent of problems and / or items of concern regarding engineering information and / or materials.
11. Ensure Permanent and Temporary Works materials are brought to the work front when needed and stored neatly in the Sub-contractors facility when not needed.
12. Ensure all plant/equipment/tools/materials are fit for use, and comply with the Construction HS&E Management Plan, with regard to certification, permits and colour codes.
13. Supervision of all instrumentation installation activities covering installation of equipment in control room, underground cable pull, erection of junction boxes erection of cable tray and pulling of cables, cable terminations and loop testing.
14. Ensure the correct stroking of control valves, popping relief valves, installing orifice plates and restriction orifices.
15. Supervision, guidance and overview of Subcontractor(s) to implement the requirements of the subcontract including the drawings and specifications.
16. Ensure that the Subcontractor produces a method statement on all instrumentation activities (ex: U/G & A/G cable pulling, glanding &termination, Cable tray & Trunking installation, Instr. calibration, Instr. Installation, Impulse tubing, Instr. Air tubing, Instr. Impulse tube testing, Instr. Air tube testing, loop check, function check).
17. Before cable pulling commences ensure CFW Safety Officer give Tool Box talk on Manual Handling, specifically heavy cables.
18. Ensure that cable drums are moved and set up for cable pull in an agreed manner, as per method statement.
19. Ensure that instrument Subcontractor accepts condition of trench for cable pull and signs it off on the quality control record.
20. In conjunction with CFW Safety Officer, instrument Subcontractor/civil Subcontractor agree standard of trench barricades and access bridges over trench.
21. Ensure protection is provided for cable ends.
22. Ensure cable drums with cable offcuts are returned to store promptly.
23. Ensure that Subcontractor displays warning notices in the control room when floor panels are lifted.
24. Ensure personnel terminating cables at instrument panels, marshalling cabinets, field junction boxes and field instruments are given a receptacle for offcuts and plastic sheathing.
25. Ensure the Subcontractor produces a method statement for the moving, lifting and positioning of heavy control panels and cable drums.
26. Ensure that if brackets and supports are welded to structural steel, the weld area is to be clean of galvanising before welding and the approved galvanising repair procedure to be used after welding.
27. Ensure the Subcontractor prepares a method statement of stroking control valves.
28. Ensure instrumentation Subcontractor makes pipe work "safe for test" by disconnecting impulse line at control valves and orifice flanges. Also check that in line instruments can take the pressure, if not remove.
29. Ensure instrumentation Subcontractor reinstates instruments after pipe test.
30. Ensure that all project materials are stored and preserved in accordance with the project requirements.
31. Supervise the Instrument Subcontractor's and Service Engineer's work to ensure that Instrument and Control System's are properly installed and function as per the system requirements.
32. Carry out Site Acceptance Test with Service Engineer and the Instrument Subcontractor.
33. Carry out Loop / Functional Test with Service Engineer and the Instrument Subcontract. Record the test result and obtain Company acceptance.
34. Co-ordinate with Company for system testing.
35. Work in close co-operation with the Engineer and Inspector assigned to his responsibility area.
36. Co-ordinate with commissioning team for smooth start-up of the plant.
37. Ensure modifications to Works are recorded on 'as-built' drawing after Site Acceptance Test and Loop/ Functional Test.
38. Carry out field modification work when required and record it.
39. Carry out SAT and Loop / Functional Test and create Field Instruction to the Service Engineers and the Subcontractor through Engineer.
