EMPLOYMENT
1999 to Present: East Carolina University, Greenville, NC Teacher Assistantship: Planned, organized, and facilitated discussion on geologic lessons and topics. Assisted students in exploring geologic concepts, principals and theory. Implemented funded projects as defined by the Geology Department.
2001 Internship North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources
Studied guidelines for assessment and corrective action of underground storage tanks in order to assist UST section. Revised and enhanced records of pollution sites of 10 counties, which included informing owners of investigation, checking for a UST permit and taking GPS readings and digital photographs of the incident site. Updated state records of UST information and posted GPS data to GIS for precision.
2000 Work-study program at Goose Creek State Park. Developed and managed an information system. Collected and analyzed water samples as part of an ongoing research project in monitoring the Tar River.
1998 Internship Illinois State Geological Survey, Champaign, IL, Planned, organized, collected and formulated data into a systematic for tracking system for mapping the Ordovician Sequence of Northern Illinois. Used and applied computer applications such as Landmark Software, Excel and Microsoft Word, Power Point, Access, and Auto CAD programs.
