CAREER OVERVIEW
* Initial phase after contract award, ensure implementation of the Planning and Progress Control System in particular Set-up type/ levels of schedules and the Progress Measurement System considering Project complexity, areas of risks, policy duration, in compliance with the Project Breakdown Structure, the internal standards and the Contract specifications.
* Interface with other Company Functions or Discipline Leaders/Supervisors to build up activities, assign milestones and constraints by issuing CPM/PERT time-scaled logic network using company standards or other factored ratios.
* Liaise, consult and coordinate with all Supervisors & Managers to incorporate relevant information that will affect the implementation of the project schedule.
* Prepare budget histograms, tables, curves, resources logs (Manpower, Materials, Equipment) as reference baselines for the control during the various project execution phases.
* The execution phase, the Planning and Progress Control System works effectively, progress status and completion forecast are soundly assessed and reported in particular.
* Monitor progress measurement is properly applied and information flow is correct and complete. Revise promptly the Control Baselines with all agreed Changes.
* Maintain updated all Schedules, collecting actual data, evaluating dates to completion and project delays by effective monitoring of actual progress and productivity compared with the scheduled baselines.
* Maintaining records for productivity report, engineering deliverables production, delivery status of materials.
* Assist the PCE in the Project Status Report preparation; require PCE to be promptly informed about all decisions or events impacting schedules and progress in order to timely reflect them in the time analysis.

Senior Planning Engineer, J Ray McDermott Middle East Inc., Dubai, UAE,

Working on Shell Pearl GTL (Gas to Liquid) project of Shell, Qatar which consists of two Well Head Topsides Pearl 1 & Pearl 2. In this phase, J. Ray to do Design Engineering, Construction Engineering, Procurement and fabricate over 9,000 metric tons of structures at its Jebel Ali facility and that will be installed in North Field, Qatar. The company will do Hookup & Pre commissioning after the installation. In Addition, the company will install Sub-sea pipelines from Pearl 1 Platform to Pearl 2 Platform and then from Platforms to Onshore, tie-in-pools & riser installation. All work will be performed by J. Ray's marine vessels in Offshore North Field Qatar. J. Ray's scope under this package is scheduled for completion by 2010.

Responsibilities as a Senior Planning Engineer, Reporting to Project Manager and Area
Planning Manager.

* Plan and schedule the project by developing a project master schedule in line with the proposal requirements through the application of the primavera P6 software to understand the project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks and targets to determine the resource requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project through the project measurement system.
* Implement the work schedule and monitor progress of the work for timely execution of the project through weekly & monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project and progress monitoring of specific projects on a regular basis. Anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts to keep the project on schedule.
* Co-ordinate internal project team reviews followed by an approval and review by the client of the work schedule, progress measurement and reporting systems. Review status reports, modify schedules and plans as required and keep the management and Project Manager apprised of the progress on a regular basis.
* Develop look-ahead schedules and forecasts to the Management team members. Monitor schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions/workaround solution in order to mitigate potential delays. Develop recovery plans as required to address schedule shortfall.
* Responsible for all the approval of schedules (Level 1-4) and progress measurement reports (From Shell).
* Responsible for co-ordination with fabrication, Operations and PMT with regard to priorities, such as deliverables and sequences.
* Co-ordinate and review inputs from the various functional departments and sub contractors contributing to the execution of the project.
* Support project planning team to develop project schedule (Level 1-4), and reporting systems specific to project.
* Develop systems and procedures for Project control functions on the onset of the project and as and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the process of monitoring progress.
* Assist in developing logic networks and schedules for bid or awarded contracts.
* Assist in finalizing weight factors and preparing Work Breakdown Structure and implementation of the same to the schedule.
* Prepare the progress measurement system such as manpower histograms, which indicate the number of people required each month, progress S curves which will indicate the progress that the project makes at a given point of time etc, which are reviewed at periodic intervals.
* Participate in critical procurement and subcontract evaluations. Schedule requirements are adequately addressed to the subcontractors.
* Assist the Project Manager in making "make or buy" and "subcontract or do it yourself" decisions.
* Utilize the construction schedule as the basis for the development of any further progress control tools such as, project and work breakdown structures, project management schedule, early work schedule, detail work schedule, daily work schedule(s), progress curves, manpower curves and histograms.
* Support reporting and forecast cycles.
* Attending the Weekly production/Clients meeting.
* Advise on potential for improvement in work execution.
* Maintain and adhere to company safety and ethics standards.
* Responsible for offshore interface between fabrication operation and offshore operation.
* Understanding of client requirements and expectations.
* Client satisfaction.
* Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with HSE Policies, Statutory requirements and HSE Plans established for the project.
* Support designated planners & trainee engineers on the job.

Onshore Responsibility:

* Develop and maintain an overall integrated Project schedule, inclusive of commercial, technical activities.

In 2004 ONGC awarded project of installation of 9 WELL Head Offshore Well Platform Project, at Mumbai high offshore field. (Fields- RS1, RS2, RS3, RS4, RS5, RS7, RS8, RS11& ZB).
Project comprised of 9 Decks weighing approximately 800 MT's each and with the weight of jackets 1800 MT each & 70 to 80 M deep averages. The scope of work included Construction engineering, total procurement, fabrication & installation.

Responsibilities as a Planning Engineer, Reporting to Planning Manager.

* Develop and maintain the Project Schedule including coding of activities to provide reporting at required work breakdown structures.
* Maintain Critical path analysis of construction schedule and identify slippage to any critical/near-critical activity which may cause schedule delay.
* Forecast changes to key schedule dates based on analysis of input obtained from engineering, procurement and construction (contractor) schedules and progress reports.
* Report weekly to management on any changes (slippages or improvements) to forecast construction schedule completion date(s) and key intermediate dates.
* Obtain input from Project engineering and procurement schedules to identify and assess issues/delays which may impact on construction schedule.
* Review and approve detail and summary schedules and manning histograms prepared by contractors and incorporate into project construction schedules.

Project comprised of deck weighing approximately 5500 MT's and with the weight of 8 leg jackets 2700 MT around 78 M deep.. The scope of work included Construction engineering, total procurement, fabrication & installation of Deck with Living module, PGC unit along with SWGR building with Asia's 5 biggest water injection pumps and bridge of worth 500 MT to BHN complex.

Responsibilities as a Planning Engineer, Reporting to Senior Planning Engineer.

* Develop logic network to meet project requirement.
