* Understanding of relevant computer systems and software, including use of ACAD, Excel and Vulcan 3D software for underground mine design.
* Well-grounded in geology, with an understanding of processes and deposits.

May 2004 – Mar 2008 Kinross Gold Corp., Russian & Round Mountain, Nevada Operations,

Sep 2005–Mar 2008: Underground Project Manager, Round Mountain, Nevada: Transferred from Russia. Managed excavation and equipment installation for 7000 feet of underground workings; and 40,000 feet of exploration diamond drilling. Subsequently completed mine designs, mine planning, scheduling and feasibility studies for various underground mining cases and sensitivities. There were no lost time accidents.

2004–2005: Manager of Technical Services, Far East Russia: Managed Russian engineers, geologists, surveyors, and technicians for the Kubaka & Birkachan Operations.
Completed underground designs & feasibility studies for the new Tsokol underground mine.

Feb 2001–May 2004 Getchell Mine,
Placer Dome, As Getchell Mine Superintendent:

In 2002, completed design elements, bid documents and evaluations for restart of the Getchell Mine. Selected Contractor and initiated underground mining at Getchell following a two-year shutdown.
Developed mine plans and managed all contract development and mining, plus in house planning, geology and surveying for the ~ 1000 ton per day operation. Our safety record was close to perfect during my tenure.

As Senior Design Engineer:
In 2001, developed work scopes and supervised planning, design and cost studies for the North Zone underground expansion at Turquoise Ridge.

Oct 1998-Jan 2001 Dee Gold Mine, Glamis Mines (Rayrock Mines), Elko County, Nevada
As Underground Project Engineer:

Designed 1000 tpd Dee North Underground Project.
Completed bid specifications, mine plan, LOM schedule and budgets. Managed underground Engineering, Operations and Contractors, implementing designed mining methods, including longitudinal sublevel stoping and benching. There were no lost time accidents during the project.

Oct 1993-Oct 1998 Kettle River Operations, Echo Bay Minerals, Republic, WA.
Superintendent of Engineering for 2100 tpd gold operation

As Project Engineer at the K-2 underground Mine, designed longhole stopes, surface and underground mine plant, development geometry and workings.

As Department Superintendent, supervising 14 staff members - provided all necessary engineering and surveying for The Key West pits, and Overlook, Lamefoot, and K-2 underground gold mines; and associated work for development, production, exploration, construction, reclamation and new projects for the Operations.
Completed permitting for K-2 and managed contractors and construction of the electrical substations, power line, haul road, offices, dry, water system, portal and initial u/g development.
Provided engineering direction for transition from development to production at Lamefoot using transverse sublevel stoping and at K-2 using longitudinal sublevel stoping.

1980-1993 Mining Engineering and Geology

Worked on a variety of projects for regional operations and individuals. Completed general mine engineering work and sublevel stope designs at the Tempiute underground Tungsten Mine and production engineering at the Carr Fork copper mine in Utah – designing VCR and blast hole stopes.
