Job responsibility:
Presently working with M/S Hyundai heavy industries co ltd. ( Chiyoda Hyundai Consortium). As an QA/QC welding inspector for onshore project. The recent project executed is Pearl Gas To Liquid(GTL). M/S JGC and KBR for Qatar petroleum and Shell. The following are the QA/QC welding inspection activities carried out in Ras laffan industrial city Doha-qatar.
* Review the test certificate of filler metal and consumable as per wps.
* Review the mill test certificate of materials being used at site with respect to heat number, material type as per the associated design data and drawings, etc. Checking the materials as per the Overage, shortage and damage report from the materials department.
* Reviewing of welding procedures specification (WPS) and procedure qualification record (PQR).
* Witness to the welder qualification test (6G,6GR,3G,2G,3F,4F) and monitoring all parameter as per wps ( current,voltage,traveling speed,and heat input)
* Preparing welder performance test record and welder Id card.
* Monitoring welder performance and discussions with client (JGC/ KBR & SHELL) as well as subcontractors for improvements etc. in production quality
* Fit up, Welding inspection and final inspection for
 LTCS, P11 etc. low and high alloy steels, SS 316, 316L etc.
 equipment related piping including equipment internal piping inspection with respect to internal and external alignment, root gap bevel angel, Groove angle as per approved drawings, applicable WPS, project specifications from JGC/KBR and SHELL DEPs
* Visual Inspection of welding of pipe and structure as per code requirement.
* Witness to Nondestructive testing of pipes, piping welds,structurals especially.T,K,Y.joints ect. by Ultrasonic testing (UT),Radiography testing(RT). Dye penetrating testing (DPT). Magnetic particle testing (MPT).
* Review Radiography film of pipe weld. Also structure butt weld.
* Witness to ferrite number (FN) measurement, positive material identification (PMI), and post weld heat treatment (PWHT) and hardness testing (including Barcol hardness testing for GRE piping)
* Painting inspection for the phenolic base etc. coatings involving Dry film thickness checking, Holiday detection, adhesion testing, pot life for the coating checking and controlling etc. Discussions with subcontractor as well as client (JGC/KBR) inspectors regarding various related aspects and issues like sampling plans, DFT and application conditions and reporting etc.
* Inspection of piping spool as per isometric drawing.
* Finalizing the hydro/ pneumatic/ leak testing plan by discussion with JGC/KBR inspectors. Preparation of the hydro/ pneumatic/ leak test packages with associated drawings,P&ID, testing formats etc
* Witness to final spool release and painting inspection.
* Final dimensional inspection as per drawing.
* Handling the CHEYODA DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CDMS) software for maintaining the latest drawing and other documents at site as well as for reference
* Managing the PIC (PIPING WELDING INSPECTION AND CONTROL) software with respect to data entry by supplier QC engineers, NDT requirements, welder performance checking, welder control requirements etc.
* Coordination with various multidisciplinary contractors and their quality control surveillance.

* Review of welding procedures specification (WPS) and Procedure qualification record (PQR).
* Inspection of fit up ( internal alingement,root gap,bevel angle,groove angle) as per WPS of material ( SS,SDSD,CS,CSNACE,CU-NI) and weld visual.
* Witness to Nondestructive testing of pipe welds,and structural weld (T.K.Y. Joint).
* Co-ordination with Design and Engineering Department for site modification. (as-built.)
* Verification of Isometrics drawing and GAD's with P& ID and it's approval from Client and releasing the drawings for Construction.
* Preparation of modification as- built as per side requirement.
* Interface engineering between Vendor and other Engineering
Contractor.
* Checking documents as per bid specification.
* Getting Mechanical Clearance from third (BVIS) party and certified agency ( CEIL ) for Haydrotesting of Piping Loops, valves.
* Monitoring of Piping Fabrication and installation activities as per drawing.
* Co-ordination with Client for clearing entire Piping system including
Mechanical Clearance, Hydro testing, Leak Testing of Entire
Piping System.
