OBJECTIVE:
I am a seasoned, experienced geophysicist/geoscientist & explorationist, and am updated with the latest technology, with in-depth experience in geophysics, as well as geology. I seek a suitable position in oil & gas G & G.

IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS:
* Proven track record of oil & gas discovery.
* Know and apply a novel workflow in an innovative way, using multiple disciplines. This procedure highly minimizes time, cost, and risk in the search for hydrocarbons.
* Able to get the best out of "less than good-quality" data, such as old-processing seismic data, and old well logs, that might be the only data available for a project.
* Besides seasoned skills in conventional routine seismic interpretation, I have in-depth knowledge of seismic sedimentology, together with seismic attribute analysis (including statistical multi-attribute analysis by Hampson Russell to best tie well logs to seismic attributes and to predict well logs from seismic data, resulting in the inversion of seismic data (2D/3D) into physical property volumes/data, such as density volumes, resistivity volumes, & porosity volumes).
* Citizen of the USA. Legally authorized to permanently work in the USA without any sponsorship. Able to travel to most world countries without visa requirement.

EXPERIENCE:
Senior Seismic Interpreter – (2006-2008): ENI (AGIP), Eni S.p.A. "Headquarters", Milan, Italy & ENI Petroleum, Houston, USA:
Regional mapping and prospect generation, including well-to-seismic tie, 2D and 3D interpretation and mapping of onshore and offshore seismic data, time-to-depth conversion, amplitude extraction, and seismic attribute analysis. Skills in tying regional geology, available well G & G information, and petroleum system information to seismic data to coherently generate, risk, and rank prospects. Experience in interpretation and mapping of both clastics and carbonates, shallow and deepwater palaeoenvironments, and salt-induced basins.
Geographic locations/geological sections worked include the Cretaceous deposits, offshore Alaska; Tertiary & Quaternary deposits, offshore Congo, West Africa; Quaternary deposits, offshore Croatia, South Europe; and Neo-Proterozoic deposits, onshore Mali, North Africa.
Besides conventional seismic interpretation, carbonate seismic stratigraphy/seismic facies analysis, assisted with seismic attribute analysis of the Neo-Proterozoic carbonates (mainly stromatolitic limestones) in a framework of integrated sequence stratigraphy was carried out (Mali Project).
Geoframe (Alaska & Congo Projects), Landmark (Croatia & Mali Projects), Paradigm (Alaska, Congo, & Croatia Projects), and Hampson Russell (Mali Project) software applications were used. Structural, isochron, and isopach maps were created.
Several leads and prospects were created by combining structural, geological and DHI observations. Results were further enhanced by combining seismic sedimentology with seismic attribute analysis using Paradigm Hampson Russell for attribute calculation and advanced visualization and interpretation. Multi-target prospects were identified, possibilities of success (POS) and reserve estimates were carried out using in-house advanced software. A special approach in time-to-depth conversion was carried out (Croatia Project) in order to overcome erroneous time contour problems (such as unreal structural lows, obscuring structural closures that could be real prospects) resulting from numerous velocity pull down effects caused by gas occurrence.
Acquired very good reputation among peers and senior management as a geoscientist how has both conventional seismic interpretation skills and special, unique skills in the field of seismic attribute analysis and its use in seismic facies analysis and in lithofacies, porosity, and fluid content prediction, and the identification of potential leads and prospects, including challenging cases of having only old 2D seismic data in frontier areas. Able to create, using quantitative (supported by neural network and statistical approaches) seismic multi-attribute analysis, accurate lithology volumes/2D sections, then, creating accurate virtual net lithology maps using as low as one well control, both in clastics and carbonaters.
Another novel approach in multi-attribute analysis was also followed using Paradigm (Alaska Project) and greatly assisted in identifying potential new blocks to bid for, from old 2D seismic data, which were the only available seismic data in Beaufort Sea, Offshore Alaska. This approach was a key in the determination of very attractive blocks based on state-of-the-art techniques. Interestingly, these blocks were later found to be the highest bidders and most competitive to acquire by major oil companies.

Senior Geoscientist (Acting Team Leader) – (2004-2006), Petronas Carigali, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:
Seismic interpretation for regional evaluation, prospect generation, and well proposals. Well-to-seismic tie, 2D and 3D interpretation and mapping of offshore seismic data, time-to-depth conversion, amplitude & attribute extraction, and seismic attribute analysis. Seismic interpretation was tied to regional geology, available well G & G information, and petroleum system information to coherently generate, risk, and rank prospects. Experience in interpretation and mapping of both shallow and deepwater paleoenvironments of deposition.
Main activity was on the Tertiary deposits of the structurally complex Sabah Basin, South China Sea, Offshore Borneo Island. Worked projects include the deepwater Kawang Prospect, shallow marine Padas and Glayzer prospects, the deepwater SB305 Block, and shallow marine Alab-Tenom Prospects, as well as evaluating the remaining potential of the Samarang Sub-block using leading-edge technology. Results significantly raised potential reserves. Experience in integrated seismic stratigraphy/high-resolution sequence stratigraphy. Landmark and Paradigm interpretation software applications were used on the worked projects. Discovered oil & gas in Padas Field, South China Sea. Well was proposed in late 2006, using state-of-the-art technology to maximize interpretability of relatively old 3D seismic data. Well was drilled in April, 2007. Results from drilling met my expectations, especially with regard to wet zones and hydrocarbon-charged zones.
Significant exposure to the technology used by partner major oil companies. Sound understanding of exploration workflows, experience in rapid assessment of exploration acreage and creation of new business opportunities resulted in the generation of new plays, leads, and prospects. Results created future reserve portfolio in the order of hundreds of MMSTB Oil, and thousands of BSCF Gas, with significantly low risk, using most recent advances in 3D seismic visualization & interpretation, including seismic attribute analysis, combined with in-depth experience in geology. Familiar with all aspects of play & prospect evaluation, economics & risking. Worked closely with seismic processing/reprocessing geophysicists for planning acquisition and processing programs. Highly familiar with AVO theory and applications. Hands-On experience with the assessment of geological impacts on seismic data acquisition planning.
Experience in computerized, quantitative seismic stratigraphy for prediction of depositional history, together with lithology and fluid content. This was carried out using Paradigm's "Stratimagic" and "SeisFacies". Such skills are based on the use of neural network technology in pattern recognition of seismic traces, supervised and unsupervised seismic facies classification "wavelet-based classification", combined with seismic attribute analysis. I combined these techniques with advanced 3D volume visualization and interpretation, using Paradigm's VoxelGeo, and 3D Canvas.
Complete reserve assessment using in-house resource assessment software (PETRA). Created and proposed seismic acquisition plans "Padas Project" from the geological point of view. Closely monitored studies done by consultants to raise quality of end products to highest levels.
Experience in interactive monitoring and contribution in integrated full field-review studies (geology/ geophysics/ petrophysics/ reservoir engineering) for the "Samarang" Field by Schlumberger.
Trained junior-level geoscientists by direct mentoring and interactive teaching presentations.
Attained a very good level of credibility & competency, which enabled best performance levels from colleagues and junior team members. Excellent communication skills, including experience in working in multi-skilled exploration team. Communicate interactively with drilling, reservoir and petroleum engineers during resource assessment, before, during, and after drilling operations by exchanging needed data and decision-making. Administrative skills as "Acting Team Leader" and interactive participation in meetings. Ability to progress attractive opportunities through the senior management review process. Keeps updated with newest technology.

Geoscientist: (1997): PETROBEL (Joint Venture between Egypt Government & AGIP), Cairo, Egypt:
Working for the Exploration Department in integrating G & G data for exploratory and appraisal well proposals. Activity focused on integrated sequence stratigraphic and reservoir studies; offshore eastern Nile Delta. Reason for leaving: Joining University of Texas for PhD.

Geoscientist (1990–1996), COREX—a British Co., Cairo, Egypt Office.
Skills in reservoir geology and core analysis. Detailed sedimentological core description tied to well logs. Experience on a wide variety of depositional paleoenvironments. Petrophysical analysis of cores, Analysis of reservoir properties using petrography on various scales. Ph.D. Project (1997–2004 part time), University of Texas, TX:
A detailed integrated sequence stratigraphic study that covers seismic sequence stratigraphic and structural interpretation, detailed sedimentology, and detailed mapping. Gained experience with all aspects of seismic stratigraphy, sedimentology, and stratigraphy. Seismic data and data from well logs, cores, and outcrops were used. Detailed core, outcrop, and well log sedimentological description, interpretation, and correlation was carried out. Well data was tied to seismic data through synthetic seismograms. Seismic horizon and facies maps were constructed. Spatial relations of sequences and systems tracts were translated to time relations through chronostratigraphic chart (Wheeler Diagram). Seventeen maps, each represents a parasequence, are constructed and show various depositional systems with their facies associations, their position in space and time, and location within systems tracts. Nine sequence boundaries and various seismic facies were interpreted and dated. Chronostratigraphy and paleoenvironments of deposition are constructed. The study led to interpretation of the chronostratigraphic, paleogeographic and depositional history of the Rio Grande Embayment, South Texas, and will greatly help more accurately discover new oil and gas plays and rediscovers old plays. A reservoir-scale case study was also investigated in high detail.
