I provided direct HVAC support to the Army at the Regional Support Center in Iraq. My function was to maintain and service the Army's A/C Systems. They are commonly referred to as Environmental Control Units. Repairs made to these systems included troubleshooting the Electronic Motor Controller,new compressor installation and replacing failed electrical switches. Other duties on the AMC Site were to service the Sprung structure 20 ton Commercial Package units which provided 10 KW electric heat. I also served as the back up Power Gen Set technician.

HVAC Foreman over 8 Third County Nationals and 2 expatriates. As lead mechanic I implemented a refrigerant recovery program. This program involved refrigerant accountability and recovery. I also served as back up Gen Set Tech. As lead Technician I trained all technicians on the new Inverter Heat Pump (410 A refrigerant)units. Plumbing supervisory duties included overseeing Hot Water Tank installs,their electrical,and plumbing circuits. Troubleshooting septic systems,inoperable water pumps,and blocked condensate drain lines were also part of my duties. In this role I received The Afghanistan coin of appreciation from the Base Commander LTC Dixs.
