I am seeking employment opportunities within the oil and gas industry with long term growth potential building upon my current refinery experience in a safety driven environment. I am most interested in consideration for employment by your company. My resume is attached.
I am 37 years of age, married and the proud father of three boys: Logan (age 10), Croix (age 4), and Seven (age 2). I met my wife, Traci, while living in the Virgin Islands and while here have begun my career in the industry with Hovensa LLC, a 495,000 bpd refinery.
In addition to the tasks listed on my resume, while with Hovensa I advanced after three months from a "process operator helper" to a process operator certified to run both crude and vacuum units. I have worked turnarounds for both units during which time I have worked inside prestripper and vacuum towers, a desalter, heater fireboxes, and other vessels. I am proficient in computer software relevant to my position and can read and use P&ID drawings. I will have my TWIC card by April 15th of this year as it is required for my current position. I am also currently training on an amine regeneration unit and will be certified by the end of April.
I spent two years as a volunteer Latter-Day Saint church missionary in South Korea from 1991 to 1993 and became fluent in Korean. I managed a group of twenty-five missionaries covering a six city region, and worked as language, cultural and safety trainer to new missionaries. I had many opportunities to serve the local population through manual labor and conducting free English language classes. I received no compensation and paid my own way during this mission.
My leisure time passions include flying airplanes (private pilots' license with instrument rating and 225 total flight hours), sailing (355 total logged days at sea), running, hiking, rock climbing, all water sports and almost any outdoor activity that raises your heartbeat. I enjoy sharing many of these activities with my family, and especially teaching these pursuits to my sons.
