INTERNSHIP & ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Magnum Engineering, Round Rock, TX 15 weeks during 2004
Engineering Internship
Although this firm is primarily focused in electrical engineering, the major projects completed during the internship period were mechanical in nature. Because of two injury accidents at Alcoa with two separate manufacturing machines, I was tasked to improve the safe operation of each. After evaluating the function of each machine (a pin-lock machine and fastener polishing unit), the following solutions were offered: wrote Lock out/Tag out procedures, designed machine guarding, made prints, re-trained production employees on proper operation and served as a technical contact for any resulting questions. This internship was obtained in part from a recommendation made on my behalf by the Alcoa HR Manager.

Machinery experience included operating and setting up lathes, grinders, mills and the drill press.
