* Since 28th October 2008 I have been working for Ballast Nedam Africa on a Road Construction Project in The Gambia, Africa. The site is a 3 year project funded by the EDF (European Development Fund) and is valued at £39 million. My role as Commercial Manager is to overseas all commercial aspects and project implementation, from preparing and agreeing interim valuations, variation control, to provide education to dedicated staff in contract administration skills, to advise all staff on technical wording of all documentation, prepare all notifications under the contract, preparing loss and expense claim, extension of time. The contract itself is to reconstruct 290 kilometres of road between Gambia and Senegal, supervised by the National Roads Authority in The Gambia and their acting Consultant from Italy.
