Project Details: Project involves the DCS engineering for the Floating, Production, Storage & Offloading Station of Agbami (Subsidiary of Chevron).
The job involves the Marine & Top side controls implemented in DCS and interface with Subsea controls PLC and a large number (32) of interfaced packaged PLCs using Modbus TCP & RTU.
Role: Lead Engineer ¡V DCS Engg.
EPC: Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engg (DSME), Korea and KBR, USA.
* Involved during the Basic Engg activities at KBR, Houston.
* Responsible for preparation of DCS software functional specifications.
* Responsible for the execution of DCS software implementation & Integration with all the Package systems including the Emergency Shutdown and Fire & Gas System (ICS Triplex).
* The Major subsystems were Emergency Shutdown System (ICS Triplex- Trusted PLC) and Subsea Master Control System (SMCS) which is using Allen Bradley PLC governs the control of 56 individual sub sea oil wells, huge amount of serial interface points. This system is integrated with Modbus & OPC communication with DCS.
* The non-critical SMCS data were transferred through Wonderware HMI s/w. The data were brought to Yokogawa DCS using Matrikon's OPC Data Manager(ODM).
* Including the above the no of Package Subsystems involved in the project were 37. There are various Packaged Equipment Systems having communication with Yokogawa DCS using serial interface (Modbus over TCPIP or Modbus RTU).
* Other Systems in the Project are HART management system (Plant Resource Manager -PRM of Yokogawa) and Exaquantum as Data Historian Server using multiple ExaOPC servers.
* Conducted Integration test with PLCs most of the packaged Vendors places such as Subsea Control System, Generators, N2 Generators, Custody transfer Systems, Chemical Injection Systems etc.
* Involved in the System startup activities at DSME Shipyard, Korea.
* DCS Engg. Activities for Saudi European Petrochemicals Company (IBN ZAHR), Jubail, Saudi Arabia. (From Yokogawa, Singapore) May 2003 ~ Nov 2004.
Project Details: Project involved the replacement of existing Valmet DCS with CS3000 of Yokogawa including the changes of subsystems for MTBE1 and Utilities plants.

* Exhaustive study of the old Valmet DCS was required during FEED stage at site to understand the existing configuration to translate and enhance to the new functional requirements of the client.
* Individually responsible for preparation of Catofin reactor Sequence, implementation and testing and demonstration of the same and commissioning of the same. (Licensor ¡V ABB Lummus)
* Individually responsible for preparation of Demineralization plant Sequence, implementation and testing and commissioning of the same.

* Seven subsystems like ENRAF, XYCOM, SCHNEIDER, GE Mark VI are also part of the job.
* Prosafe PLC of Yokogawa through MULCOM.

* This project was the first Exaquantum system in India integrating 9 various Process plants of a refinery.

* The process data from 9 different Process Control Systems including 6 DCSs of Yokogawa (Centum CS), one TDC3000 of Honeywell, one LM PLC of Honeywell and one DCS of Foxboro were integrated in the PIMS server.
* ExaOPC servers were used for Integrating Centum CS, Centum XL & Micro XL Systems.
* UPHD software was used for Integrating PIMS with Honeywell TDC 3000 & LM PLC.
* Matrikon OPC server was used for Foxboro DCS Integration with PIMS server.
* The data Stored is served to Client machines located in the Management network.
* Involved in detailed Engg of Exaquantum System including the database preparation, Historian configuration and HMI pages generation, System FAT and commissioning at Cochin refineries site.
* Integration of DCS with APC system at Bharat Petroleum ¡V Mumbai Refinery's FCCU and ARU plants:
* Integration of 2 Centum-XL DCSs of Bharat Petroleum ¡V Mumbai Refinery's FCCU and ARU plants with APC system of AspenTech using ExaOPC package.
* Logics for the Process loops involved in Advanced Process Control were implemented in DCS for Data transfer, enabling the Acceptance of Optimum Set point provided by the APC.
* Data transfer between DCS and APC system is through OPC.
* DCS Engg. for M/S.Bharat Petroleum- Mumbai Refinery's CCU plant and Integration with APC system: (Revamp from Toshiba DCS)

* Responsibilities included interaction with customer, analyze the process, prepare functional specifications, Subsystem communication for PLC and Single loop programmable controllers (SLPC) through MODBUS protocol, project scheduling and other standard workflow procedures of YOKOGAWA like preparing quality records and documentation Getting approval of the specifications, implementation, conducting Factory Acceptance Test, Site Support for OPC connectivity and Documentation.
* This job involved the Communication with APC system of AspenTech through ExaOPC package. Logics of Loops involved in APC communication were programmed in DCS.
* Communication with Safety system( Yokogawa's Prosafe PLC) was also involved.
* Integration of MicroXL DCS with Honeywell's UPHD software for APC:
* Integration of MicroXL DCS with Honeywell's UPHD software for APC application at Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers ¡V Methanol plant, Mumbai, using the ExaOPC package and CS1000 system.
